--- robots: noindex, nofollow --- # Autonomy User Test with Jameson ###### tags: `UX` 29-DEC 2020 ## Onboarding Tapped the Start button and it was stuck. Tapped again. And again. And it finally reacted and showed the next screen 3x: {%youtube 2-xOtS9FQzw%} The whole expience is very amateur. ## Accounts His feedback was ... don’t show me a big address. That's really all my eye can see. Show button that says show address. Make it feel simple. ## Contacts His feedback when adding me: - He wants to add details to me. - He doesn’t know who Moskovich is. - Add details and notes. He doesn’t know anyone’s user name. And he will forgot a week later. ## Settings He tried access recovery. His feedback: - This isn’t even English. Read L0 as "lo". This is too much reading. Holly fuck. - And who is bitmark?! - Upgrade now button is so small. - I don’t think people need to know this stuff. - It should just be setup recovery. - You put all this stuff behind FAQs for nerds. He picked me and then saw this screen: ![](https://i.imgur.com/N3YS8eL.jpg) "It’s not obvious what I do next here. I almost hit cancel because he wanted to close the screen." ## Final thoughts He said I really like your high-level concept / vision, but the execution is lacking. The app felt amateur to him. Not enough attention to detail. He then said: "Everyone is still building financial services grade. What we really need is to get people to consumer grade. No technical jargon. Click a button and magic happens. Like [Apple watch pairing](https://support.apple.com/en-bn/HT204505)." Once they get past the onboading he thinks we could consider having a checklist for the new user: 1. Setup your account. 2. Secure your account. (Add friends) 3. Etc... He thinks the social for keys is super smart. But it must feel fun. You could almost pay them at each step. It could be super small amounts. But we should also then compress BTC into something like exponents. Right now it feels like he has nothing at all. (Too many zeros!) Thinkn about what are the most important things. Maybe it's - add friends - Coins in wallet - Send something Whatever we define as Product metrics, reward those. He also said he really wants multiple wallets. (What we would call accounts...) He doesn’t want people to be able to look up his address and see his balance after he sends them money.
