# Horrig Darkfist

### **Background**
From a young age, Horrig showed a fierce determination to protect his people from any threat, no matter how great. He trained tirelessly in the art of combat. As he grew older, however, he began to experience strange visions and dreams that he couldn't explain.

These visions were dark and unsettling, showing him scenes of ***[something here that fits your story?]***. Horrig felt a growing sense of unease and dread, and he became convinced that something was hunting him. He began to expect danger around every corner, and his paranoia only grew as the visions continued.

One day, Horrig was sent on a mission to investigate reports of drow raiding parties near the edge of his clan's territory. As he travelled through Underdark, he was ambushed by a group of drow who had been sent to eliminate any Duergar threats. Horrig fought fiercely, but he was outnumbered and outmatched. Just when he thought all was lost, he felt a surge of divine power within him that allowed him to overcome his enemies.

Horrig knew that he had been chosen by Laduguer, the dwarven god of crafting to become a paladin. He devoted himself to this calling but the visions and dreams continued to haunt him, and he became consumed by a terrible guilt over ***[something here that fits your story?]***. He hoped that by serving Laduguer and carrying out acts of redemption, he could find some measure of forgiveness however he still fights against the darkness that plagues his mind.

- Native to the Underdark, has never been to the Land Above. Is aware of common Dwarves and Elves
- Speaks Common, Undercommon, Deep Speech and Draconic
- Constantly smokes a pipe when thinking/resting. Smoke is yellow from a type of mineral that, when ground up and smoked, produces a similar effect to tobacco. Smells of sulfur
