# How to configure window server in aws cloud
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is one of the most popular cloud computing platforms in the world, offering a wide range of services to help businesses and individuals deploy, manage, and scale their applications and infrastructure. One of the most common use cases for AWS is running Windows Server instances in the cloud, which allows organizations to take advantage of the scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness of the cloud while running their familiar Windows-based applications and services.
In this blog post, we'll walk you through the process of creating a Windows Server instance on AWS, step by step.
First requirement that you will require to have an account in amazon visit https://aws.amazon.com/console/ and create account
### Step 1: Log in to your AWS account
To get started, log in to your AWS account and navigate to the EC2 dashboard.

### Step 2: Visit EC2 dashboard
Once you're on the EC2 dashboard, click on the "Launch Instance" button to start creating a new instance.
This will be landing page then click on EC2 to open its dashboard
When the dashboard is open then you will click on "Launch Instance"

### Step 3: Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
On the "Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI)" page, select the "Microsoft Windows Server" option. You can choose the edition and version of Windows Server you want to use, and select the appropriate AMI.

First select operating system in my case is window
Second select the window type in my case is window server 2022 and this is just for learning purpose then I just selected Free tier eligible image that will be valid for just 1 year

### Step 4: Choose an Instance Type
On the "Choose an Instance Type" page, select the instance type that fits your needs. You can start with a basic instance type and scale up later if necessary.

### Step 5: Create a Key Pair
Create a key pair or select an existing one to connect to your instance.
First time user you will recuire to create new key pair

When you click create key pair it will download "key pair name.pem" make sure you keep the file since it will help you in authentication

### Step 6: Network settings
This part is where you will need to allow some port that you will require but also you may configure later
In our case the rdp is allowed by default since were going to access it via rdp

### Step 7: Add Storage
On the "Add Storage" page, you can choose the type of storage you want to use for your instance. You can also add additional storage if needed.
In this it will be left default

### Step 8: Review Instance Launch
On the "Review Instance Launch" page, review your settings and click on the "Launch" button.

Successfull launch window server

Click on bracket link

Then will be redirected toward

### Step 9: Select Instance id
Since the instance is ready will need to review and gain ip by clicking "instance id"

Below are some summary info

### Step 10: Get rdp credential
* Click on connect

* Click on RDP connect

* In computer input ip of your machine given in the summary then click connect

* Click on generate password and will be redirected on this page and upload the file and below part and click to decrypt password

* Note the password and username

### Step 11: Open RDP application
* In window just search rdp and click to open

* And this will be how it display

* Now keep the ip that is in summary and click connect
Then fill the password and username generated in step 10 and click ok

* You will wait for it to connect

* And finally the window server is open
