--- title: The Search for New Rangers 2022 tags: --- # The Search for New Rangers 2022 This is a document to lay out pathways to new Ranger contributors in 2022, following the [current HandBook workflow](https://daohaus.club/docs/handbook/contributors/get-started). 1. Select your Circle 2. Introduce yourself 3. Start your 1st task 4. Level up! For items 1 & 2, it's quite simple and for potential contributors to complete. Once they introduced themselves on Discord, we can reach out to talk to them. ## Who are we looking for? Currently, we do mainly content marketing. We need content writers to write articles, tweets, as well as documentation. Hence, the ideal contributor we are looking for should be someone that: 1. Can write long & short form content 2. Intermediate understanding of Web3, L2s and DAOs 3. Basic understanding of DAOhaus 4. Willing to commit X hours for the next 4 weeks (any number >5 is fine really, we just need commitment) We'll definitely welcome everyone who is keen to contribute. However, when we need to prioritise, these are criterias we look out for. ## How do we onboard / ensure a fit? In order for contributors & Rangers to assess the team fit, we should give potential contributors tasks to work on. To ensure sufficient time & experience to find a fit, we should give this process 3-4 weeks of consistent (not full time) commitment. If there is a fit, the Rangers can then discuss and upgrade the contributor to the Retroactive Commitment Track. There are 2 ways which potential contributors can find tasks to do. ### 1. Self-serve: Public Task Board First, they should find tasks on a public task board. To enable potential contributors can quickly start work with a manageable learning curve, these tasks should be: 1. Well-scoped 2. Simple 3. Not time-sensitive 4. Representative of actual Rangers work, but lower intensity To start, here are 3 examples: 1. Create a Meme 2. Create a Tweet thread based on Docs content 3. Create an article about DAOs or DAOhaus DAOs ### 2. Shadow a Ranger Second, if they are unable to find a task that fits, or if Rangers cannot create tasks quickly enough, they can opt to shadow a Ranger (Bau/Amos/Spencer/whoever). The objective is for them to show up for meetings, take up simple tasks that come up, or collaborate with Rangers on complex tasks. Hopefully, after 3-4 weeks, the Rangers can do a vote & see whether there is a fit and if we'd like them to be compensated retroactively.
