PolygonDAO Project Charter Meeting

## On the call
- Polygon: **Hamzah** (Core team, overseeing DeFi, Grants DAO & Polygon Advoates) , **Grendel** (Polygon Advocate running the grant operations)
- Mystic Whales: Sydney, Jeremy, Amos

## Where Poylgon is at now:
- It's currently Season 0, where Polygon advocates (volunteers) run their grants pipeline & DAO. The Polygon core team focuses on business development & oversees general community's progress.
- Season 0 state of progress
- Grants are already happening via a DAO
- Payouts & multi-sig process have been designed
- DAO2DAO partnerships are set up (eg. Creator DAO & Analyst DAO):
- Grantees get to receive money & Dapp Care Package (freebies from Tenderly, Akash, Pocket, Audits, Alchem)
- 1-2 projects already received Dapp Care Package

## How can we help
1. **Streamlining community operations**
- When looking at Project Charter,
- Hamzah: They need help in community onboarding/offboarding, voting processes & KPI metrics
- Grendel: 'DAO' & community is already running
- There's probably a running process that was bootstrapped, but not optimised enough from Hamzah's POV
2. **Creation of a community map (Timeline: TBD)**
- Problem Statement: There are many sub-communities across Telegram, Discord for Polygon & they want to unite these sub-communities to form this Polygon DAO
- Hamzah recommended to have a deep-dive call with Grendel, Muzkan (Dev relations) & other community members to understand what's needed here
3. **Decentralisation of BD for Season 1 (Timeline: Jan 2022)**
- Hamzah reflected the desire to get community/DAO members to do BD & DeFi partnerships later on in Season 1 (assuming it involves lead-gen, partnership, grants, onboarding, etc. )
5. **Token utility, narratives & token sales**
- While very brief, Hamzah reflected that the token workstream is still important & wants to have proper token utility & tokenomics related to the DAO

After consolidating notes, I took a stab at understanding what Hamzah might be thinking (need to validate)
* **Phase 1/Season 0**: Streamline community operations (a day-to-day POV)
* **Phase 2/Season 1**: Integrate sub-communities into this formalised & streamlined DAO & decentralise BD to be done by DAO members
* **Phase 3/Season 1?**: Once DAO & token's role is clearer, work on token utility, narratives & token sales

- What other projects & communities have Mystic Whales worked with? Opolis (1.5M LP in 7 days) & MetaKovan/WhaleStreet
- Do we have 0 to 1 experience? Yes, Sydney is a founding member of Token Foundry at Consensys
- How does pricing work? Dual approach of DAI & MATIC for 5 months
- What happens after the project (assuming we'll execute, operationalise and handover to community)?

## Post-call Mystic Whales Discussion
- Sydney:
- Are they looking for community design (IDEO-esque design thinking) or community operations?
- Do they have clear BD / Tokenonomics / Token Sales needs?
- Jeremy:
- We can work on the grant pipelines + refine onboarding & processes
- Amos:
- Need to have more information in a deep-dive call to understand what's required
- **Consensus**: Follow up with PolygonDAO team to ask for a deposit if they are keen, which will be used to fund the engagement they end up with
