# Logos UI/UX Review
## Objective
Review the Logos UI & UX based on the following prompt:
> As a DAO contributor, you want to stay on top of the updates & actions in DAOs you care about, and not miss out when new interesting things launch
## Approach
To review the UI & UX, I will be asking the following questions in this order:
1. **User Persona & Problem Statements**: Who is the user of Logos (i.e. user persona)? What are they looking to solve (i.e. problem statement)?
2. **Product Flow**: Which part of the current product solves this?
3. **Product Review**: How well does the current product solve this problem?
## User Persona & Problem Statements
Based on the prompt and a brief look at the Logos UI, it seems like an explorer or aggregator for DAOs and DAO-related information.
Based on this assumption, here are 2 personas that may be relevant:
1. People who don't know what a DAO is
2. People who know what a DAO is, but want to get involved
3. People already involved in some DAOs but looking for more
4. People involved in multiple DAOs & are busy enough
| User Persona | 1. People new to DAOs | 2. People who know what a DAO is, but want to get involved | 3. People already involved in some DAOs but looking for more | 4. People involved in multiple DAOs & are busy enough |
| ------------- | --------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------- |
| Problem Faced | What is a DAO? Why should I care? | What DAOs should I know? Why should I care? | What DAOs should I know? What's happening in my DAOs(s)? | What's happening in my DAOs(s)? |
| Problem Space | Education | Discovery | Discovery + Getting up to speed | Getting up to speed |
Taking the above assumptions, it seems like there are 3 main problem spaces that are relevant for the 4 personas above (Education, Discovery & Getting up to speed). With the above prompt, the focus seems to be on the **Discovery** and **Getting up to speed** problem spaces for **personas 3 and 4**
## Product Flow
Based on the Figma file, here are the screens:
1. Index / Index with Connected Wallet
2. Connect Wallet -> Suggestions -> Subscribe
3. User Dashboard
4. User Profile -> Badges Members / Similar to you
7. Notifications
8. DAO Dashboard
9. Add your DAO
10. Insights
For the Problem Spaces of **Discovery** and **Getting up to speed**, here are the screens that seem to be relevant
| User Persona | 1. People new to DAOs | 2. People who know what a DAO is, but want to get involved | 3. People already involved in some DAOs but looking for more | 4. People involved in multiple DAOs & busy enough |
| ---------------- | ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| Problem Space | Education | Discovery | Discovery + Getting up to speed | Getting up to speed |
| Relevant Screens | Not the focus today | Not the focus today | Index, User Dashboard + Notifications, DAO Dashboard, Insights | Index, User Dashboard + Notifications, DAO Dashboard, Insights |
Next, let's review the following pages (**Index, Notifications, DAO Dashboard, Insights**) from the **personas 3 & 4** looking for **Discovery and Getting up to speed**.
## Product Review
### Index
> Comments in the General Feedback section will be mostly in a 'Think Aloud' manner
**General Feedback**
* **Image cards**: It looks nice but I'm not sure what I should be doing here
* **Search bar**: I see the search bar again, but I'm not sure what I should be filtering or searching for. Maybe the search results' attributes need to be clearer? Or bring out some of the filters?
* **Search results**: I see a listing of DAOs. The description is helpful, but I'm not sure what to make of the other attribtues. Is this all the DAOs? What happens when I click on "Explore all DAOs"?
* **Latest News**: I'm assuming this just displays Logos' tweets from the "Join us on Twitter" button. This feels like a standard website / social media plug feature but not really useful
| User Persona | 3. People already involved in some DAOs but looking for more | 4. People involved in multiple DAOs & busy enough |
| ------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| How well does this help me discover DAOs? | I can find new DAOs here, but the information is not meaningful and it's not clear what I should be doing | NIL. Assumption is that this persona is less interested in discovering new DAOs |
| How well does this help me get up to speed? | NIL. This flow seems to be more for recovery. | If my wallet is connected, I should be seeing a customized feed. Not very helpful. |
### User Dashboard + Notifications
This feels like the home page for a connected wallet user, but I'm sensing it isn't. Curious how do users get to this page.
**General Feedback**
* **Notifications**: This is helpful. It is confusing which notification requires my action since the notification says "3 Action Items" but the green checkbox + circle + notification text indicates that this is completed. Also, the thumbs up & down is confusing (perhaps only show 1 or grey out the other?)
* **Latest activity**: This looks interesting, but curious how it will differ from Notifications / Inbox.
* **Stats**: Good idea, but not sure how useful these numbers are (e.g. NFTs owned by my DAOs, # of bookmarked DAOs). Also, what does "Add first DAO" do? (I'm assuming that the numbers will automatically be pulled from DAOs I'm a part of)
* **DAOs you are a member of**: This is needed, but not sure how useful the current data is shown here. Maybe we can add more information about change in state of treasury or proposals (e.g. # pending proposals)?
* **DAOs you follow**: Similar to the point mentioned for this component in the Index page, the current information is not very useful here. Also, I'm curious whether the information from these DAOs will show up in Latest Activity & what are the overlaps
* **Recommended DAOs**: Similar to the point mentioned for this component in the Index page, the current information is not very useful here.
* **Explore DAOs**: The page is a little long & this seems to be of a different intent (more divergent exploration). Perhaps it deserves its own page
| User Persona | 3. People already involved in some DAOs but looking for more | 4. People involved in multiple DAOs & busy enough |
| ------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| How well does this help me discover DAOs? | The Recommended DAOs component could be very useful if recommendations are relevant & information is useful. For now, the information isn't very useful. It's hard to tell whether the recommendations will be relevant but I'm assuming it will be. | NIL. Assumption is that this persona is less interested in discovering new DAOs |
| How well does this help me get up to speed? | The Notifications & Latest Activity look promising, but I'm curious what the overlaps are. Some small UI tweaks can be made for less confusion & more useful information / CTAs can be surfaced. | Same as the left cell
### DAO Dashboard
**General Feedback**
* **DAO Information (Left)**: This is straightforward & useful. Curious what the "Join" button does - could be powerful
* **DAO Information (Right)**: This has potential but I'm not sure how useful the current information is (e.g. % of members? proposal velocity? DAO activity over months)
* **Members**: This is straightforward & useful. A good-to-have is to include socials.
* **DAOs with shared members**: This component looks useful but is placed too high up. I'd want to find out more about this DAO in particular before looking for other DAOs. Again, the information provided here may not be useful
* **Latest activity**: This should be useful. Will proposals & tweets be shown? If it's just tweets, it's not as useful
* **Overview**: Not sure if Overview is the right label for this. If the information here is useful, it should be placed on top. Currently, it is interesting but not useful.
* **Badges**: Feels like a good-to-have
| User Persona | 3. People already involved in some DAOs but looking for more | 4. People involved in multiple DAOs & busy enough |
| ------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| How well does this help me discover DAOs? | This page should theoretically be helpful, but the information is currently not useful for discovering relevant DAOs | NIL. Assumption is that this persona is less interested in discovering new DAOs |
| How well does this help me get up to speed? | This might not be what this page is for, unless I'm going into this DAO particular searching for updates. If that's the case, then only the Latest Activity part is relevant but not so helpful. | Same as left cell |
### Insights
**General Feedback**
This seems to be a collection for Markdown files, which I think is a good MVP for surfacing these notes. This is useful, but the seamlessness of the uploading process for these Markdown files would be crucial.
Ensuring some docs are visible for DAO members only is important too.
| User Persona | 3. People already involved in some DAOs but looking for more | 4. People involved in multiple DAOs & busy enough |
| ------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| How well does this help me discover DAOs? | This does not achieve this. | NIL. Assumption is that this persona is less interested in discovering new DAOs |
| How well does this help me get up to speed? | If a DAO's meeting notes are all here, it will be very useful. A good-to-have will be synthesizing & summarizing notes. | Same as the left cell, except that synthesizing & summarizing notes will become more important. That said, having the Markdown files as a MVP is good enough |
## Summary
Most of the pages and components are relevant, but the information provided may not be useful for both **Discovery** and **Getting up to speed** respectively.
Also, the UX flows and layout of components in area such as the User and DAO Dashboard may not be natural or reflective of a user's browsing priorities.
