# Define Ansible Community Strong Mission Statement IMPORTANT: This is about a COMMUNITY mission statement, not Ansible’s. Pieter Hintjens writes, "The starting point for any community is a stated mission. The mission defines the goals that we can all agree on in advance, before we join the project. It’s like the title of a website or the slogan for a movie." Despite already having some different slogans on: - [ansible.com](https://www.ansible.com/): "Automation for everyone" - [ansible.com/community](https://www.ansible.com/community): "Automation powered by people" - [pypi](https://pypi.org/project/ansible/): "Radically simple IT automation" - and other places there is no reason why, being more than the product, the Ansible community as well as community sub-projects can't have their own mission statements. I suggest defining the Ansible community strong mission statement to use it as a slogan at least: - on the [new community website](https://github.com/ansible-community/community-topics/issues/201) - maybe at Ansible community events - in community projects if the communities want to use it, though they are free to define their own missions or not to have it at all:) It can be one of statements mentioned above or a different one we're free to define. The plan could be: 1. Discuss if we, as a community, should define it now or the community team can (randomly) pick one of the above and put it on the new website? We could define it within the community later in a form of survay or whatever. 2. If there's support for the idea to define it now, anyone interested will suggest their options. 3. Then, based on thumb-ups, popular options will be chosen. We'll create a vote and will vote. 4. It'll appear on the new website. Your ideas (for now ONLY) on **point 1**?
