# Integrating Jitsi & YouTube This is the setup we use for Contributor Summit, and some meetups (such as London) ## YouTube 1. Via profile icon (top right) use *Switch account* to swap to the right "Channel", ie "Ansible Community" or "Ansible London Meetup" 2. Click the "create" :video_camera: icon (top right) - if this isn't visible go to [studio.youtube.com](https://studio.youtube.com/) 3. "Go Live" -> Schedule Stream 4. Populate the details of the stream, make sure "Live chat" option is disabled if you want to keep the chat in Matrix 5. Set the visibility to "Unlisted" if you want to test it or just keep it that way until you're ready to go live (an unlisted link can still be shared to the meetup group) 6. In Stream Settings, copy the "Stream key" (to be used in Jitsi) 7. Even though you aren't broadcasting from your laptop, you still need to grant microphone & webcam permissions. These steps seems to be needed for the Ansible Community account, but not the London Meetup account (where sharing the stream key in Jitsi immediately starts the live stream): * After you've pasted the "Stream key" in your Jitsi meeting, you'll be able to see a preview of the stream * Click "GO LIVE" (top right) to actually start the live stream Finally, remember to swap back to your profile. This avoids polluting the official YouTube channel with your personal watch/likes ## Jitsi *Community Team have the credentials* 1. Login via Unispace Dashboard https://app.unispace.io/ 2. FIXME: set up & deploy environment for Jitsi server 3. Start a Jitsi meeting using the admin credentials provided from the deployment 4. In the meeting, select "Start live stream" from the options menu 5. When you're ready to go live, paste the "Stream key" obtained from YouTube above and the live stream will start (for London Meetup account) For Ansible Community YT account, the following applies: * Pasting the "Stream key" in Jitsi establishes the connection to YT but it's not live yet * Go back to YouTube Studio and hit "GO LIVE" to actually go live ## Meetup.com 1. Edit event 2. FIXME: Where to set URL 3. 2nd line of event description be YouTube Link. If it's later on people will miss it. 4. If using Matrix ensure that's clear on 3rd line. ## Matrix
