TL;DR
A normal keyboard sends the scancodes of the keystrokes, and the operating system transforms them into the actual characters according to the keyboard layout settings on it. That's how a normal keyboard can support the input languages supported by the operating system.
CC1, CC2 and M4G can also support those languages because their way of sending keystrokes is the same as that a normal keyboard does.
When you want CC1, CC2 or M4G to output a symbol on an OS layout other than QWERTY - US, you should set the corresponding symbol (at the same position) on the QWERTY - US layout to the key or the chord output.
Some features only work under QWERTY OS layout or English.
Default Chord LibraryEnglish-only
It only works under the QWERTY OS layout.

Last year (2022) some pain occurred sometimes on my index fingers and wrists, and I found out the main problem was the keyboard. I have relatively small hands so I need to move my entire hand to type on a normal keyboard, and keys are hit mostly by my index fingers. It's nearly impossible to change these 20+ years of bad typing habits, so I thought a possible way is changing the keyboard! I did some searches such as no hand keyboard, and carpal tunnel keyboard at that time, and I found the One with the keyword fastest keyboard at a news site.
(Of course, I don't remember this now but Google remembers it forever...) I did some search about CC1 and purchased it the next day! (2022/07/22, Order #1195)
2. Training or Using?
I received CC1 about two months later (2022/09/13) and started practicing when off-work. Practicing chentry and chord on CC1 is just like enjoying a relaxing finger exercise. It really helps me reduce the finger and mental fatigue caused by typing and programming when working as a software engineer. My typing speed on CC1 slowly grew higher at this time, and I tried to use CC1 at work a few times because I know there is a huge gap between practicing and using it. But I was interrupted by lots of emergency tasks to do at that time so I could not help but switched back to QWERTY when speed is required. Furthermore, I also need to practice programming and typing in my input method of my native language, Chinese Bopomofo (Zhuyin), on CC1. Both are different from pure English typing. Nice, I really chose a really tough road. But my hands will finally get broken by QWERTY if I give up! I still want to write more useful and interesting programs! With this determined mind and lots of practicing, despite lots of tasks and lots of bad things happening at that time, I reached 40 WPM (English typing) this February, learned a layout (Eten Bopomofo, which keys are highly linked to English key so they are easier to memorize) for my language, and started to write some small piece of the program with CC1. The time with full CC1 is coming?
3. Sudden Death and New Comer
When everything seems to be fine, I accidentally broke a switch on CC1, (I strongly think I have a curse for breaking any electrical things around me.) so I ordered another CC1. (Order #2935, 2023/02/27) The second CC1 was delivered after 10 days. (2023/03/09) Improving from 2 months to 10 days, wow! The bag changed a little bit and I felt the switch is much stronger and easier to use than the old one. The product and the company are growing! These 10 days without practicing surely caused a drop in my speed at first, but it grew back quickly.

I received my Master Forge (M4G) on March 5, 2025. I've learned how to use M4G now (I started writing this article with my M4G on July 13, 2025).
I had written review articles for CharaChorder One
(CC1) and CharaChorder Two (CC2). M4G inherits some parts of them, so in this article, I will focus on the differences between M4G and them.

Preface
I received my first CC1 almost two years ago. (2022/09/13. I started to write this article on 2024/08/05.) I've spent much time on CC1, practicing typing and chording, finding solutions for using the Bopomofo input method to type Chinese, and finally working daily with CC1. Since the next device, M4G is coming soon, I think it's a good time to write a review for CC1.
So in this article, I will review the benefits or drawbacks of CC1 under my near-two-year experiences with CC1, and some of them have been mentioned in my other articles.
Ergonomic Design
The first and most important thing about CC1 for me, is its ergonomic design. This is also the reason I chose CC1, and it perfectly meets my exceptions. It prevents the finger and wrist pains caused by my long-term bad typing habit on normal keyboards and my large usage of normal mice. Thanks to CC1, I can still do my full stack engineer job and write more useful program.
Configurability
To be honest, I completely forgot to consider typing Chinese, which is my native language, before buying CC1. I didn't have any preparation for that and then took a good time to find, implement, and practice Bopomofo input solutions on CC1. Thanks to the configurability of layout on CC1, I could freely design both the device layout and the Bopomofo layout and came up with some effective layouts that work well for all of English typing, Chinese typing, and programming.

Key caps are the parts that we would always touch when using the CharaChorder 3D devices, so they would significantly affect the user experience. Having used CharaChorder One (CC1) with its metal caps and CharaChorder Two (CC2) with its hybrid (plastic + rubber band) caps in both summer and winter weather[^weather], I decided to write a review article for their key caps.
Note that the CC2 I use is in an early version (bought on 2024/11/26), and there have been some updates to the key caps since then. Some defects mentioned below might be fixed.
Preferences in different weathers
In hot weather, my fingertips get sweaty easily. The sweat on the metal caps can dry quickly through evaporation. However, on the hybrid caps, the sweat would be absorbed by the rubber ring, making it sticky and unpleasant to the touch.
On the other side, in cold weather, the hybrid caps are still at a pleasant temperature. However, the metal caps would be slightly chilly to the touch, but they would warm up after a while.
If I can swap the two types of key caps on my device in the future, I'd prefer to use the metal caps in the summer and the hybrid key caps in the winter.
