# Essiac Tea for Cancer and Many Other Ailments

### Intro

Essiac Tea started with a recipe of 4 main herbs obtained from an Ojibwa medicine man in Canada:
- burdock root
- slippery elm
- sheep sorrel
- indian rhubarb

Later, Rene Caisse RN and Charles Brusch MD, with the help of an herbologist, added 4 more herbs as "potentiators" (companion herbs which make the first 4 herbs do their jobs even better):
- blessed thistle
- watercress
- red clover
- kelp

#### Where to get Essiac Tea Made With the Original Rene Caisse / Charles Brusch Formula

There are several manufacturers of various versions of the original 4-herb formula, with positive testimonials, such as NOW Foods "Ojibwa Tea" ([Swanson](https://www.swansonvitamins.com/now-foods-ojibwa-tea-16-fl-oz-liquid), [VitaCost](https://www.vitacost.com/now-ojibwa-tea)).

But in my research, I was able to find only two manufacturers who were trusted with the original, secret, 8-herb Essiac tea formula in the correct proportions and quality as worked out by Rene Caisse, RN, and Charles Brusch, MD.

Both manufacturers have high standards, and both should work equally well. I have personally so far only tried the 2nd, but will also try the first.
