AlmaLinux OS is a downstream of RHEL. We clone the upstream sources, then if necessary the packages are also modified and de-branded.

AlmaLinux believes in the communal spirit of open-source and sees each user as an invaluable collaborator. AlmaLinux OS supports and recommends following the "upstream first" approach in this matter. User contributions to CentOS Stream not only enhance AlmaLinux but also enrich the entire Enterprise Linux ecosystem, including RHEL and CentOS Stream. And any bug report, bug fix and contribution to CentOS Stream will eventually be rebuilt to AlmaLinux.

We invite you to join us in this endeavor, upholding the open-source principles of trust, transparency, honesty, integrity, and mutual respect. Together, we can continue to create a vibrant and innovative platform for all.

You can see how you can help and contribute on the Contribute page.
