One of our key collaboration tools is our whiteboard/call for whiteboards on the platfrom. This tool is provided for our users to visually represent maps, images, templates and any kind of visualization that can help during a project. However, we want to keep our platform tidy, homogeneous and appealing! To do so it is important to have some guidlines on how to make the visuals you need Alkemio style. Here you will find some useful typs and screenshots that will guide you on the process of creating your templates the best way possible. First of all when creating a template on Alkemio make sure to round the edges, this ensures to keep the design more modern and in line with our style. You can do so by using the fucntionality box and select the rounded edges ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/H1STVzKon.png) We reccomend not to use a darker colour for the stroke, try to use the same colour inside and out (background and stroke) To make sure the colours are matching we offer a small selection of colour palettes to make sure the colours are always nice to the eye and not clashing with each other. You can find the document with some recommended [colour palettes](https://https://stichtingcherrytwist.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/sites/Contributors/Shared%20Documents/Communications/Colour%20palettes/New%20Palettes%20for%20templates.docx?d=w6c7e5241a53c48cbb72a4f1a618a04f5&csf=1&web=1&e=4P4aCC). You can use any colours you like as long as they go well together. When creating your visual make sure you put a fixed background square that covers the whole template to give it uniformity and a better general look Try to always insert a step by step process with an estimation of the time or an info box at the side of your template where you give explanations on how to use it. Different examples can be seen below: ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/B1H-ffYj3.png) ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rJWFMztin.png) When using dark colours make sure the writings are in white and vice versa (so the read becomes easier and clearer), you can see this from the screenshot above as well. Another important detail while creating templates are the post-it. When creating post-it or sticky notes make sure they are squared and of light colours so they are recognisable and easy on the eye: ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/Hyt6LfFsh.png) As you can see you can also create a set of stiky notes grouped together so your team members or others can use different post-its during the excerice or brainstorm etc. Also, make sure the borders of the stiky notes are only one or two shades darker than the colour of the it background (If the post-it is yellow the borders shoudl be of a darker yellow then but not of another darker colour) Something else to keep in mind when designing your template is to use the same thickness for the lines and to align the different circles or squares or which ever form you create. To align the shapes you have to select them together and then go to the functionality box like this: ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rylicMti2.png) And then adjust them as you wish in the "align" section. Then also try to use one writing style only max two if you really need to make something stand out compared to the rest. + Use the same size of writing for the inside and titles can be L-XL If you want to re create an already exsiting template you can take a screenshot of it and paste in on excalidraw to easly reproduce it. If there are many lines or complicated steps to recreate the visual, you can also draw on top of the screenshot to then remove it at the end.
