October 01 Environment Pollution(Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) submit report to the SC on Stubble Burning ECPA stated that the inclusion of the cost of the stubble removal in MSP might not be a viable option and any such incentive if necessary should be provided by the state government. Previously following the SC guidelines to incentivise farmers to stop stubble burning, Punjab and Haryana last year(2019) announced a bonus of Rs. 2500 an acre for small and marginal farmers.
