###### tags: `CDA` # Filter your Email ## Filtering and Fake News Prior to this assignment, I have never learned how to Filter emails, nor did I know it was possible to do so. In an age of scam emails and an influx of digital information, looking at emails can be incredible overwhelming and stressful! Fun Fact (it's not really that fun of a fact): I have close to a 1,000 unread emails on both Outlook and Gmail :( Delving into the fun fact, most of those emails that I have been receiving tend to fall into the sphere of **disinformation** mentioned by Claire Wardle in their article *Understanding Information Disorder*. Most of those emails I have been receiving are aligned with political and social based issues and are partially due to my usage of ~~sketchy~~ websites to get free books or watch free online shows. Moving away from that information, those emails that I have been receiving tend to spread around false information regarding reproductive health. With that information being false and seemingly being spread with malicious intent it follows the attributes of disinformation with the combination of misinformation and malinformation. From speaking inaccurate information about abortions to the emphasis of pro-life stances and movements, it is easy to determine that these emails are aiming to appeal to easily influenced individuals towards to their fitler bubble. I found this assignment to be a good way to filter away different information that could potentially be causing me to be stressed/overwhelmed while also preventing me from succumbing from from false and malicious information. It gave good insight to always remember to check sources in future cases and make sure to be ensure that articles I read need to be fact-checked and reliable. ## Filtered Email Assignment ![](https://i.imgur.com/qf4Pg14.png)
