# introduction to angels. This is my best attempt at introducing our understanding of angels. This is extremely incomplete and is only meant to provide a general understanding of it. ## Views on religion I am not Christian nor religious in general. I am a victim of religious trauma who has been surrounded by the concept of angels my whole life. This is my way of *antagonizing* religion. We have been raised in a deeply Catholic country and we are troubled by it. ## Views on God I see angels as opposed to God. I believe that angels do not enjoy life in heaven and are subject to a harsh caste system based on fear. Here are my following readings: - In the Book of Enoch 1 (Apocryphal), Angels teach humans forbidden knowledge (magic, astrology, metallurgy, makeup...) and this causes God to start the universal deluge (which does not completely wipe out this knowledge as we are aware today). - In the same book, angels procreate with human women to give birth to giants who also destroy God's creation. - I believe the angels wouldn't do this for no reason, since they have no desire for reproduction and no inherent desire for evil. Therefore, I believe that they are attacking God's creation and therefore God Himself. - God has a place in which to send angels to be punished, which to me indicates that the punishment of angels is systematized and carried out by other superior angels. These angels are tortured by burning forever in a valley of ashes. - In Revelation (Canonical), Lucifer and about one third of angels rebel against God. I do not believe they would simply do this for evil, and I believe they had a deeper motivation for this. I believe they were protesting against the oppressive caste system of heaven. Based on these readings, being an angel, especially a low-chorus (rank) angel, puts you in a position of constant fear of God, where you are controlled and forced to do labor. ### Philosophical views on God We actually do not believe in a metaphysical realm. God is an idea that is shared between cultures, and there are several Gods on earth. When we talk about God, we are talking about the Social Catholic God that the body is immersed in. ## Choruses (ranks) I use the general Christian classification of Pseudo-Dionysus, which is the one most people know: 1. Seraphim 2. Cherubim 3. Thrones 4. Dominions 5. Virtues 6. Powers 7. Principalities 8. Archangels 9. Angels These are divided into three **orders**: - 1-3: High order - 4-6: Middle order - 7-9: Low order The higher choruses hold social power over the ones below, and therefore the higher orders work the same. A Seraphim is more powerful than a Cherubim, and so on. The higher the order, the less they are. There are less Seraphims than Cherubims. As a result, there are only a few Seraphims, but there are millions of angels. The angels, having little to no power, carry out the lowest tasks, mostly related to Earth, and are immediately disposable, which means it is very easy to terrorize and punish them. In my case, I would be a lowly angel. ### Archangels vs 'archangels' Archangels (in uppercase) are the 4 Archangels who represent God's second-in-commands, like Michael, Gabriel, Raphael or Uriel. 'archangels' (in lowercase) are the rest of many more archangels who simply rule over angels but are subject to the rule of Principalities. These have many different names. ### Ascension Angels ascend ranks in a ritual where they drink the blood (energy) of an angel two ranks higher than them. To ascend to be a Seraph, one must drink the blood (energy) of God Himself. ## Vampirism Angels, who are technically undead, feed on other beings' energy, whether it is spiritually or by blood. As a result, angels are depicted to have fangs for us. Guardianships (the relationship of a guardian angel with regards to a human) are relationships in which the human offers their energy in exchange for protection. Blood mostly equals energy. They are interchangeable. Physical blood does not need to be involved, but it is stronger and more intimate if there is. ## Reproduction Angels do not reproduce, instead, angels are made. An angel is made when a human drinks the blood of an angel. Said human then becomes one rank lower than the angel who provides the blood. The angel who provides the blood is called the **progenitor**. The person who receives the blood is called **heir**. It is during this process that this human acquires an angelic form and stops being human. ### Philosophical views on humanity Humanity is just a construct, much like gender is. One can stop being human when they wish to stop being human. This is merely the metaphor we use for this. ## Angelic society Heaven is divided into castes of power, matching the choruses. Angels only live with angels, archangels only live with archangels, and so on. The areas are physically divided. Angels are closely watched by superiors. Low angels are not meant to have names since they are immediately disposable. However, they do keep names in secret. Not every angel is against God. Some of them still adore God. If you adore God enough, you may have the chance to ascend and enjoy more privileges. If you do not adore God, you are to be punished. There are undeground cults and groups that call for rebellion against God. Some of the leaders of these small groups, such as my alter Azrael, have been punished with life for it, and became fallen. ### Metaphor of angelic society Angelic society is really just a parallel meant to represent the class struggles of Earth, and this metaphor is what we use to explain the problems of our world in mythical terms. ## Fallen angels An angel may be punished with falling from heaven, permanently cast out. An angel may fall to Earth or direclty to Hell. Personally, I am not a fallen angel, since I was turned on Earth and I have not ascended to Heaven yet (and I do not plan on doing so anytime soon). However, my alters are fallen angels. ## FAQ **Q: Can I be an angel too?** A: If you know an angel well enough who is willing to convert you, yes. **Q: How do you know all of this?** A: Kin memories and biblical study. Kin memories is a metaphor for the construction of metaphorical stories that explain complicated processes in our life and the life of those around us. I do not believe that I am *actually* remembering another life, it is simply the language I use for everyone to understand. **Q: Can I learn more?** A: Yes, you are always free to ask me over Discord about anything you want.
