# Welcome to The Ponz!


## What is The Ponz?

The Ponz is a game of strategy, timing, and nerve built on the Base & Monad Testnet blockchain. Players deposit USDC into a central vault, becoming the "leader". Each deposit resets a 60-minute countdown timer ⏳.

**The Goal:** Be the leader when the timer hits zero!

If you're the last person to deposit when the timer expires, you can claim the entire vault contents. But.. if a user sees the timer is up and you haven't claimed yet, they can make another deposit and reset the timer 👀.

## How to Play ▶️

1. **Connect:** Connect your wallet.
2. **Deposit:** Deposit USDC into the vault. Your deposit must be *higher* than the previous deposit. Each deposit makes you the current leader and resets the timer to 60 minutes. You can also leave a message with your deposit! Taunt your foes! 😜
3. **Wait (or Deposit Again):** If someone deposits after you, they become the new leader, and the timer resets.
4. **Claim:** If you are the leader and the timer reaches 0:00, you can claim the entire vault! 🏆

## Strategies 🧠

* **Early Bird 🐦:** Deposit early to establish yourself as the leader. This might discourage others if the pot is small.
* **Sniper 🎯:** Wait until the timer is very low and deposit at the last moment, hoping no one else is watching as closely. Risky, but potentially efficient.
* **Big Depositor 💪:** Make a significantly larger deposit than required. This increases the pot size, potentially attracting more players, but also makes it more expensive for others to overtake you immediately.
* **Bluffer 👻:** Leave intimidating or funny messages to try and psyche out other players.
* **The Stalker 🕵️:** You might know who the leader is and know their timezone, will you use it to your advantage?

## The Rules & Fees 📜

* **Currency:** Deposits are made using USDC on the Base network or Monad Testnet dApp.
* **Minimum Deposit:** Your deposit must always be greater than the last deposit made.
* **Timer:** Each new deposit resets the timer to 60 minutes.
* **Fee:** A 1% fee (100 Basis Points) is taken from every deposit. This fee contributes to the game's ecosystem or treasury.
* **Winner:** The wallet address that made the *last* deposit when the timer expires is the winner and can claim the vault 🎉.
