# 3D Assets Planning & Strategy ## Project Goals PeakShift is creating a free 3D asset pack for Bitcoin to prove its abilities in the fields of design, support the Bitcoin design community and generate some social presence inside and outside the area of Bitcoin. ## Project Benefits This project has the potential of discovering and solidifying our creative processes as a team. Through it, we can bond in work, learn how to communicate better with each other, and ideate and give feedback more efficiently. Through this project, we can put PeakShift in the spotlight as a well-rounded creative-powerhouses in the field of Bitcoin. ## Project Strategy In this section, I'll go through the execution plans depending on the stages of the project. The "pre-release" section will focus on generating traction before and while the assets are being developed. The "Release" section is for when both the Assets and all "pre-release" work is done, and the "post-release" section is going to focus on how we can maintain, grow and improve the project further. --- ### Pre-release #### Setting up a Content Calendar Before we start posting anywhere, we need to have a place to track the progress and plan the releases of this project's content, and the most fitting way is to have a content calendar. A content calendar is a written schedule of when and where we will publish our work. Such calendars have filters like the piece that's going to be uploaded, its status, the location where it will be posted, date and time and updates to existing content. ![](https://i.imgur.com/bwXdpOg.png) We are having such a schedule in place will allow us to be more organised and systematic when growing our social presence. *Here we'll have the link to the Airtable doc I'm planning to make* #### Building Social Media Presence This 3D pack allows us to re-connect and create new connections with the Bitcoin design community through social networks and channels. ##### **Dribbble** While Dribbble is still a hotspot for inspiration, jobs, discussion, resources and technically everything-design related, we need to establish and maintain an active team profile for PeakShift. Through it, we'll be able to showcase our work from hi-fidelity prototypes to WIP shots and even freebies of public docs, playbooks and other work-related assets. ###### Preparing for Dribbble After we have both the content calendar and a team account in place, each team member will have the ability to schedule shots and post them through the team account. The current algorithm in Dribbble empowered daily uploads or teams/individuals that post often (at least three times a week). ###### Creating successful Dribbble posts Visual is king in Dribbble. While the core idea of the platform was to promote WIP shots and spark discussions, designers are designers, and we like well-polished, aesthetically pleasing posts rather than a well-made wireframe. We should always aim to bring something eye-catching to our audience if we want to have any interest in the works we do ![](https://i.imgur.com/YDeRP8Q.png) ##### **Instagram** ###### Instagram Stories Once we get some assets done, we start creating sneak-peek stories that will tease our followers for this release. The critical element is being consistent with the uploads - at least 3x a week. We can further create polls and ask question through IG's stories to gather input from fellow Bitcoiners and give a sense of presence and interest to our user base ###### **Instagram Posts** Following Ed's suggestion, we can create posts where we show the assets and tell their story and then ask an engaging question to spark a discussion with our followers ![](https://i.imgur.com/3Ir8cMJ.jpg) *Example of a good instagram post* ##### **Twitter** Unlike Dribbble and Instagram, Twitter is a platform where visual content rarely generates traffic. It's superpower is text-based discussions. We need to come up with a stragegy where we spark discussions, share tips, stories and ideas about Bitcoin and it's community. ###### **3D Assets Post Ideas** - Create polls about the next assets our users would like to see - Share WIP of the assets and ask for feedback - Share previews of the completed Assets with a short story behind them ##### **Micro-website** Micro-websites are a great way for showcasing our skills in the field of design, copywriting and marketing. It's a great way to generate and transfer traffic to our main website/ social media channels. The content of the website is going to revolve around showcasing and pitching the 3D assets and their benefits. It would good to think of a flow that will require users to share the website before downloading the assets and a potential section where users can "donate" to support the further development of the project. The biggest benefit of having a micro-website is the ability to list it as a product itself on platforms like ProductHunt, Awwwards Bitcoin-based communities from where we can generate even more traffic. ![](https://i.imgur.com/p9zhBOh.png) WIP shtos of the micro-website can be used in Twitter, Instagram and Dribbble to both showcase our design potential and generate anticipation and traffic towards our socials. ###### Great examples of micro-websites [Kukla Kit](https://kukla-kit.wannathis.one/) [Security Kit](https://security.wannathis.one/) [Emoji](https://emoji.wannathis.one/) [Main Website of the Creator](https://wannathis.one/) ----- ### Release At this point of the project all of the design work is done, all the assets are ready, the micro-website is coded and ready to be publicly released, the marketing content is being posted for a while with the release shots ready to be uploaded. Here's how I suggest we reap the benefits of our pre-release work. ##### **Micro-website launch** Once the micro-website is designed, coded and tested, we should list it on ProductHunt and and share the link to all of the Bitcoin channels we're in (ask Johns for input). Even if we don't go to the top in PH, we'll generate some traffic and with time and good planning we can use ProductHunt as a marketing platform. ##### **Twitter** Once we're live, we'll share tweets for the micro-website and ProductHunt's listing. In the upcoming days we should post tweets related to the 3D assets launch for both keeping the traction towards the release and making sure none of our followers have missed out the launch. ##### **Instagram** Similarly to Twitter, we should make sure we share a post and stories for our launch, change our description to link our micro-website and to upload a post asking for our followers to upvote the Launch on ProductHunt. ##### **Dribbble Market?** TBD ##### **Bitcoin.Design?** TBD ---- ### Post-release After we launch the project, we should have bi-weekly (once every two weeks) "reminder posts" on our social networks. After a month, we change our focus from the social networks back to the Assets, because it would be time for us to build our first 3D library. #### Design more Assets In order to deliver something that's worth the price, we'll have to increase the number of 3D assets provided. A healthy number is from 16 to 24. Increasing the numbers of assets will justify a paid version which we can list on UI8, ProductHunt and other Bitcoin markets. #### Convert Asset Library to Figma Library Delivering free PNGs is cool, but having a fully editable Asset library in Figma is a whole new level. As stated above, we can make a paid Figma asset library, which hopefully in time could generate us a decent passive income. #### Launch on Figma A mini-asset pack (for example the 10 least viable symbols) can be released for free on Figma's marketplace. That way we'll support our initial plan of releasing freebies, yet we'll provide a paid option as well, for those in need of a detailed asset library. Listing the free option on Figma's marketplace will surely increase traffic towards our websites. #### Update Microwebsite Upon the release of the free and paid versions of the 3D library, we'll have to update the microwebsite. We'll have to highlight the fact that we'll be providing a detailed asset library for Figma, PNG files and possibly the 3D files as well. #### Social Media Campaigns After the micro-website is updated and the Figma library is listed, we should repeat the marketing processes we did for our pre-release for all our socials. We should share on Twitter, Instagram and Dribbble about our release. Once we have a content calendar in place things will go smoothly.
