# Block Components from Etherscan
**Etherscan** is a blockchain explorer and analytics platform specifically designed for the *Ethereum* blockchain. It provides users with the ability to explore and analyze the Ethereum blockchain by offering information about transactions, addresses, smart contracts, and other related data.
:dart: We will examine the components of a block from etherscan.io in this article. *Grab a popcorn and enjoy the read!* 😎

* **Block Height**: This Indicates the lenght of the blockchain. Increases after an addition of a new block
* **Status**: The finality status of the block. This switches between two status which are finalized and unfinalized. Finalized means
* **Timestamp**: The date and time a block was created or produced
* **Proposed On**: The slot and epoch this block is proposed on
* **Transactions**: The number of transactions in a block
* **Withdrawal**: Number of beacon withdrawals in a block
* **Fee Recipient**: Address recieving fees from the transactions in the block
* **Block Reward**: For every transaction the block producer is rewarded some amount o ether on top of the paid fees in the block
* **Total Difficulty**: The total difficulty of the chain until this block
* **Block Size**: The block size is determined by the block's gas limit
* **Gas Used**: The total gas used in the block and it's percentage of gas filled in the block
* **Gas Limit**: Total gas limit provided by all the transactions in the block
* **Base Fee Per Gas**: Post-London Upgrade this represent the minimum gas used
* **Burnt Fee**: Post-Londong Upgrade, this reprent the part of tx fee that is burnt. Calculated by baseUseFee * gasUsed
* **Extra Data**: This is any data that can be included by the block producer
* **Hash**: The hash of the block header of the current block
* **Parent Hash**: The hash of the block this block was generated from.
* **StateRoot**: The state of the block trie
* **WithdrawalsRoot**: Block header withdrawal root
* **Nounce**: Block nounce is a value used during mining to demonstrate proof of work the block.
