# Lee Hyo-song, a Korean high school girl, dramatically came from behind to win the JLPGA Major Salonpas Cup

On the last day of the JLPGA Tour World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup (total prize money of 120 million yen) held at Ibaraki Golf Club East Course (par 72, 6,665 yards) in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan on the 5th, Lee Hyo-song shot a 5-under 67 with a "Daily Best" score in the difficult fourth round.


Lee Hyo-song, who saved three pars by writing four birdies and two bogeys through the 16th hole, quickly took the lead by drawing birdies at the 17th hole (par 3) and eagles at the 18th hole (par 5).

Lee Hyo-song, who made a total of eight under par 280 on the four days, beat Shuri Sakuma (Japan, seven under par 281) by one stroke.

Lee Hyo-song, a national team member who was called a "golf prodigy" early on by sweeping various national competitions since elementary school, is a talented player who won the Kangmin-gubae Korean Women's Amateur Golf Championship for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023.

Lee Ye-won (21), who won the major individual titles of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour last year, finished first by three strokes until the third round, but did not perform as expected in the final round.

Lee Ye-won tied three birdies and seven bogeys on the day and shot a 4-over 76 to finish third (total 6-under 282).
