Most of people don’t give the appropriate attention on Privacy by thinking that everything is trustable and safe, including applications Web2 like Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp and others, but is not as safe as you think. These companies are completely controlled by the Government to extract informations of the users everyday. ## **A: Ok. But which informations do you mean?** Well, You are used to use uber to get around, don’t you? Or waze to guide you to someplace that you don’t know how to go, right? When you open one of these apps they ask you to allow your location, so it’s simple to track you and see where’re you going or what you are doing. Every step that you take is being registred in a huge data base of CIA, NSA or any company controlled by the government. And this… is just a simple example about survilliance. When you’re talking to the phone to someone, you have no idea that this call are being registered and recorded. Your mobile are transmiting informations about you, even when it´s not in use, without you knowing. Your conversations on Whatsapp, Instagram etc are also being whatched, as well as the record of purchases you make in the market. In a few words: You’re not safe. --- ## **What's Zcash and Why is so Important for Freedom?** Zcash is a Bitcoin Fork, but it has its own blockchain and cryptocurrency, completely focused on Privacy, Freedom and Security. That means that the proof of concept is the same, Proof of Work. The first Zcash Blockchain currency units were launched on October 28, 2016, being the first crypto to implement the protocol Zero Knowledge-Proof. For those who don't know ZKP, it guarantees privacy and selective transparency of transactions. Zcash currency payments are published on a public blockchain, but the sender, recipient and transfer amount details are completely confidential, making any tracking or surveillance impossible. Zcash is important for Freedom because the government or anyone can't see what you're doing in the Blockchain. You are Free to buy, send messages and do whatever you want without the worry of being watched. ## **What benefits can i have using zcash?** In addition to state-of-the-art encryption and privacy preservation, Zcash has unique features that set it apart from other projects. Zcash supports fast block processing times (75 seconds), low rates (default 0.0001 ZEC) and large block sizes (2 MB), with regular update schedules, which means that this protocol is adaptable to meet the the diverse use cases of today, as well as the unforeseen use cases of tomorrow. This promotes innovation and prevents ossification. Zcash is also self-funded with strong community governance that aligns with key stakeholders' incentives. Zcash's governance structure is inclusive and resilient. With the Canopy update, a new community development fund is secured from 2020 to 2024.
