### AVS Description
Brevis Network is a smart Zero-Knowledge (ZK) coprocessor that enables smart contracts to read the full historical on-chain data from any chain and run customisable computations in a trust-free way. The coChain AVS solution combines crypto-economics and efficient ZK proofs to reduce computational overheads and enhance data accessibility.
### Unique Selling Proposition
The coChain model differs from the pure-ZK model as ZK coprocessing requests are reduced significantly and enable dApps previously not viable with the pure-ZK model. The main USPs can be summarized as follows:
1. [Optimistically](https://docs.brevis.network/developer-resources/brevis-cochain) generates coprocessing results, accepts coprocessing requests without having to wait for after on-chain verifications of ZK proofs.
2. Expanded dApp usecases, coChain ZK model allows for features that are fundamentally difficult to create in the “pure-ZK” model, such as proof of non-existence or proof of completeness.
### Economic Model
Coprocessing results are generated through PoS consensus. Results are submitted to blockchains as 'proposals' that can be challenged via Zero-Knowledge fraud proofs. If no challenges are made they can be used by dApps directly without incurring ZK proof generation costs. Successful challenges will trigger the slashing of the corresponding validators’ stakes.

### Security
1 audit on Brevis AVS contracts has been completed by [Slowmist](https://github.com/brevis-network/brevis-contracts-avs/blob/main/audit/SlowMist%20Audit%20Report%20-%20Brevis%20Contracts%20AVS.pdf) (April 07, 2024). 1 critical level vulnerability was found and fixed and 1 medium vulnerability was found and acknowledged but unresolved.
### Maturity
Mainnet Deployment Date: [April 09 2024](https://etherscan.io/tx/0xa81fa04a750b68704931d14508cb378a86fe73beb2c2fe17de4f944494c41cb9)
### Regulatory Complexity
Low risk of legal challenges is anticipated for the project, rooted in its infrastructural nature, which positions it to be regulatory agnostic.
### Risk Considerations
- The control is centralised in EOA, allegedly controlled by non-doxxed individual(s);
