This includes reviewing and updating or creating your slide deck for each of your assigned coding sessions - As an instructor please be sure to check this guide on teaching on Zoom: https://hackmd.io/@nesquena/codepathvolunteerzoom, if possible try to make sure you are in a place with good internet, can screenshare and teach uninterrupted, have a good mic so students can hear you clearly, etc. If you want to even get a https://breather.com/ or find a quiet space, that can be a good thing to do if you are concerned about your setup at home. ### December 4 **Reviewing and auditing the coding sessions** Based on the schedule for the course, Weeks 2, 4, 5, and 7 will be coding labs. It'd be great if we could all take a pass through the coding labs to make sure things work as expected. You can review the coding weeks in the course portal itself. For Weeks 2, 4, 5, and 7, you'll see the lab tab. This is the page that students will follow to work through the coding labs as they build out their flashcard apps. As you're working your way through the labs, feel free to make any edits and fixes as needed. You can read more about making edits in the portal on this FAQ, and feel free to ping us on Slack if you run into any issues or questions. Things to look out for as you're working your way through the labs: - Outdated screenshots that might be confusing for students - Unclear explanations of a topic or concept - Broken links **Preparing for your own sessions** As you work your way through the labs, it could be a good time to start thinking about planning out your own sessions. You can see recordings of the sessions from the last run to get a sense of what each session was like. You can also see the slides posted for each coding session in the course portal under the 'Lab' tab. Besides going over the basic technical concepts, it's also great to talk to students about general workings of the tech industry! They love hearing about the different roles in tech, what you do on a day-to-day basis, and how you got to the position you're in today. ### November 13 **2018 MAD Review** If you want to check out materials from the last time we ran the course, you can see everything in the course portal: https://courses.codepath.com/courses/mobile_app_design. You can also watch the recordings of the all the sessions in this playlist: https://courses.codepath.com/courses/mobile_app_design/pages/recorded_sessions **Planning for the 2020 run** Our 2020 run of the course will kick off on Saturday, February 8. You can read more about the upcoming course including the tentative 8 weeks schedule here: https://hackmd.io/1R4suHM_QrywlW4cnDC6VA **Next steps** - You can sign up for the sessions you'd be interested in leading in this spreadsheet. (Ideally, each instructor would lead at least 2 coding sessions.) - There's a calendar invite sent out for us to sync again on December 4 @ 6pm. By the next sync we should have a better idea of who will be leading each session, and next steps for prepping for the sessions.
