- How the course went overall
- TA support was great, questions were answered promptly
- Pace seems to have been about right from the survey
- I think having live coding really helped this time
- Android's Persistence lab with database seems to have given students the most trouble, but when I asked people which lab they liked the most, it was overwhemingly the 3rd lab
- It would've been nice to see more collaboration, and I think students would've enjoyed it too.
- Observations: What are 2-3 things that you noticed while participating (or that surprised you)
- Went well: What are 2-3 things that you felt worked well, and/or that you got good feedback from students on
- TAs support
- having lots of optional features
- Could be better: What are 2-3 things that could be improved to make things even better in our run next summer
- Support from TA was amazing, but a lot of the questions / issues were mostly the same. We should scrub through the Slack channel and create a 'Common Issues' page for each lab for the next run
- more git stuff
- Should we consider changing deadline a day that's not Friday?
- thinking about more effective breakout rooms
- For students that you noticed seemed to be struggling with the course, what do you think we could have done to better support them (if anything)?
- I think reaching out 1-1 really helps. Sadly only reached out to about 10 students individually, but the ones I did reach out to ended up asking more questions 1-1 later, and I was able to help them connect with TAs
- optional 'study' sessions where TAs are available for support?
- What's one brief anecdote, note or comment you got from a student that you remember, either positive or negative
- I read a comment from the survey results about how someone liked the last lab the best because it was focused on styling and animations. And the person said that they think they're interest in programming increased after that lab because they realized that programming can be so much more than just writing algorithms
