MetaCamp has emerged from our lived experience of DAOโ€™s shared in conversations and collaboration. DAO's are not just communities, they are living and feeling groups of amazing humans that benefit massively from these intimate gatherings focused on creativity, wellness and community alignment, this is your opportunity to share the designs and creativity of your organizations, and collaborate with like minded others. This is a family friendly event, aimed at merging work <> life balance with team building and intentional experience design. Please note you must have a return/forward ticket to get into the country. **Transfer to MetaCamp** To reach MetaCamp, it will take about 75 minutes from the airport. You can grab a transport from Airport for about $30-$40 or grab a cab but we highly encourage you to coordinate your flights and grab a private mini bus upon arrival. We're thrilled that this event brings together over 50 DAO community, with individuals participating in the creation of MetaCamp. We're using this information to design a very intentional and relaxed retreat experience following an [unconference design](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unconference). :::success :Calendar: **UNSCHEDULE** ::: An unconference is a participant-driven meeting. So we intentionally leave lots of space for spontainious breakout sessions, we have a few daily rituals to connect and guide us as a community. To give you a chance to guide the schedule, We've we'll have a daily activity board signup sheet that has talking sessions, activities, and avaliable time slots for you add your own event during MetaCamp. Each experience depends on who shows up, what the desire of the group is, and what the community feels is relevant. :::success :computer: **COWORKING** ::: While we encourage you to take time off and unplug, of course we understand that not every can take 8 days off of their commitments, so we have arranged a beautiful co-working space, with private stalls, desks, and multiple dedicated conference room onsite. ![](https://i.imgur.com/d6PiACn.png) This location has high speed fiber WiFi which will enable clear and easy access to your global teams. :::success :volleyball: **ACTIVITIES** ::: There will be a number of different activities you can sign-up for to help you unwind, recharge, connect, and enjoy your stay. **Included** ๐Ÿงพ Daily guided meditation or yoga sessions are included in your stay, we'll also have beach sports equipment to play games on the beach, in house pool, and pickle ball court nearby ๐Ÿ“ Group trip to the Labyrinth healing center, farmhouse called La Cenda https://lasendacostarica.com/ Hiking trips to local sites and scenic lookouts near Playa Grande **Additional Cost** ๐Ÿ’ธ We've arranged for a number of activites which you are available for an additional fee for those keen to participate: * Private Surf lessons will available every morning at between 6am and 9am (best time for the waves) **$20 per day** * Surfboard and Boogie Board rentals available for **$15 per day** * Horseback riding can be booked daily for **$45 per day** * Motorcycles are available for the week for **$25 per day** * Canoe tours of the estuary **$30 per day** Stuff you really want to do but don't see here? Just ask! :::success :hamburger: **MEALS** ::: A meal plan will be made available closer to your time of arrival, the cost will be $250 per person for 5 days of meals at the Onda Kitchen. Breakfast foods and snacks will provided for you to create your own adventure, the Onda kitchen is fully stocked with all kitchen implements, fridge, quad burner stove, cups and plates. Also note that all alchohol at the Onda bar is on your own tab, or availabile for purchase at nearbye markets. There are a handful of restuarants in walking distance from Onda. Fancy fine dining, burger shack at the skate park, pizza, and a seafood spot are all options you're welcome to enjoy at your own expense. We'll provide a full list and maps when you get here. You will find that English is also widely spoken. **Safety** It is very safe and welcoming at Hotel Playa Negra. The hotel has 24-hour security, and we advise while staying at MetaCamp, use the same common-sense rules you'd use at home. **Currency** Almost all vendors accept USD and credit cards, but you'll be given change for USD in Costa Rican Colones. **Cell Service** An unlocked cell phone will work in Costa Rica. But remember to call your wireless provider before you go to add global roaming capabilities to your plan. You can also buy a SIM prepaid card and use your unlocked cell phone in Costa Rica. **Items to Bring** Headlamp, bug spray, hat + reef safe sunscreen, sandals and shoes comfortable to walk in, your favorite games.
