- no more feedback on Ben's question on archiving, Ben will ping person from Ohio State again

- approach 1 (slide 6) is in addition to other filtering methods
- 4th option could be added to my_path_parser to customize things
- Lisa: Python is quickly becoming more popular, so Python-aware filtering of CLI options is a growing problem
- Does XALT currently support any other operating systems than Linux?
- Not currently, although XALT mostly assumes ELF binary format, but there's definitely also Linux-isms assumptions
- Ben: potential topic for future meetings
- letting XALT use a message queue rather than syslog or other methods
- would be a single place to implement this, see transmit.c
- would be problematic to deal with containers
- domain sockets looks promising (even for dealing with containers), but is currently in beta
