IP protections for people to branch rights to people who make proposals and whatnot. Community guidelines, resources for hosting mailing lists or voting on certain things, adds credibility. Process in specification work, how we document our work, how we would be able to contribute work. Would need to sign contributor license agreement to contribute projects. Could slow us down, we could form our own process for prototypes / draft proposals to keep our speed up. Many working on implementations right now, want to make sure that this is being done in a responsible open way that can eventually make its way into a formal specification. Q: How to ensure skin in the game, motivate people to do grunt work of doing the process? A: Robert signed on to doing most of the work for next 2.5 months, won't be able to guarantee much afterwords. Ideas: https://sourcecred.io/ / https://opencollective.com/ Not too many successful projects out of opencollective? Need to ensure our specs will be popular to integrate into software, not excluding possible huge implementers that go down route that can't be integrated into larger platforms. Make biggest change we can by leading the way how we do responsible design of Metaverse protocols. Need to come to consensus on what will get us there and how we can get those adopted at larger companies hopefully. 5 sponsors, 1 chair for W3C Manage nominations on GH discussions Chair Nomination discussion: https://github.com/omigroup/OMI/discussions/17 --- ## OKR Workshop Link: https://github.com/omigroup/OMI/discussions/10 OKRs: Objectives and Key Results Set goals, direction, without being too narrow or specific. I will achieve this objective as measured by this key result. Time bound. Put why before how. For ex: I will increase our user retention on our new mobile app. The way I'll learn is that we'll have an 80% reduction in churn. We are looking to plan an OKR workshop to establish baseline Objectives and Key Results so that we may track our progress, as well as lay critical breadcrumbs for future contributors. Shaw: I'm fine with objectives but I'm skeptical of project management application across a distributed working group team. OKRs, epics, so on and so forth. Solid to have a roadmap but inevitably we're going to form factions around 3-4 tech solutions and 3-4 data transfer and privacy and push those competing proposals forward. --- ## M3 Notes M3 (Metaverse Makers) is an organization started 2 years ago with many of the same aspirations of OMI. We took notes of our first meetings here and have [video logs](https://www.youtube.com/c/Exokit/videos) as well. - https://github.com/M3-org/schedule/tree/master/2019-05-02 - https://github.com/M3-org/schedule/tree/master/2019-05-16 --- ## Action items / Ideas - Who do you know that could help with documentation? - Schedule OKR workshop, 2.5 hours: Wednesday or Friday?
