Introduction

- Today's discussion of Home Spaces
Jin:
- Homespace is where many people will start
- Where you start when you "boot up"
- The desktop for the metaverse
- Different for each platform right now

Discussion
- Each "faction" has a different ecosystem, but what if the open metaverse had a homespace?
- Calling your homespace your own- where you have control (keys to your castle)
- With FB's pivot to meta you can see their early idea of the Homespace: Display Walls, Avatar picking station

- Friendlier . intuitive for newer people

- ArtifX on cyber Homespace Space Pod- Built on open standards and allows for customization
- Interchangeable and moddable architecture has a lot of potential

- Depends on how things evolve
- How the open metaverse feels/ looks can attract way more people if their is a nice/cool customizeability in comparison to FB's set in stone architecture

- Prefrabricated and Isolated vs Maker Oriented and personalized

- Unique and crazy experiences are possible with open metaverse

- Real time building inside the platform vs Developing separately from platform
- A culture around being a creator, not just a consumer
- Being able to watch and learn while exploring
- Like having screenshare with a ghost mouse cursar
- Powerful future

- Also allows you to see the code behind whats being created while you are inside the creation
- Cool for the common user

- Open and moddable schematics are important
- Metamoondo helps optimize creations for multiple platforms
- Marketplace in Japan and VRchat Booth.pm has homespaces available(warrants a field trip)
- Marketplace for avatars, shaders, graphics
- Has a semi annual market with booths
- Common elemnts: media player, cozy lighting, and a mirror/ avatar changing station
- Possible to set to a persistent virtual world like NEOS and Webaverse
- Just a few basic ingredients to create an MVP

- Guarantees that the digital assets will work in multiple platforms
- How the user experience could improve/change to compete with closed metaverse

- Homespaces so far are all islands separate from each other- need a seemless transition between worlds

- When an avatar can move between worlds- thats the biggest red pill moment

- What is control and ownership when a platform controls your access to the space- Jailbroke and ported to other spaces
- The closer you are to the meta the more control you have a raspberry pi to the wider web, allows for layering and visualizing the network

- For People whoi are less interested in building and more into exploringm, what will that look like?

- Raspberry Pi is low barrier to entry- no command line interface needed
- Flash drive auto installs- easy intake flow
- Endgame is self hosting- decentralized servers
- Improve hardware wallets/ Media player to allow for shared experiences

- Paths to decentralization, education and showcasing all the possibilities
- Self hosting is crucial for freedom, openness and decentralization
- Main challenge is navigating the noise and education

- For worlds - getting a mouse 3D VR moddelling tools
- VR modeling might be easier to begin with than 2d modeling for beginners
- Cryptovoxels great for building in world but no tooling for export yet
- Blender has good tutorial
- Not starting from cractch- just download from sketchfab and booth.pm
- Wood lasercutting

- Crossover of Raspberry Pi and WebXR has a lot of potential and should get more documentation
- Server to host files- the desktop runs the client side

- Less about speculation and back to decetralization
