# KWL Studying Method Know 1. Write down everything you can think of that's relevant to the topic. 2. Write down the things you might be wrong about and mark them. 3. Give yourself a time limit. 4. Review what you wrote. Want to Know 1. Define it- I knew they were misfolded proteins, but what makes it misfolded vs. normal? 2. Hone in: "a lot of neurodiseases" what are they called? What are they're symptoms? How many neurodiseases are caused by prions? 3. Ask why: "Spreads fast in cows..." Why does cannibalism cause prions to proliferate? Do they side with the zombies? 11. Write down the questions or topics that you will research. Remember to ask how or why 12. Read various sources on each topic. ### Example: Prions #### Know Misfolded proteins If one touches a normal protein, it causes to misfold ? the misfolded shape is chemically easier to keep which is why they misfold on contact Causes a lot of neurodiseases, maybe only neuro ones, but it includes Creutzfield-Jakobs disease and (?) the disease that causes that family to get less and less sleep until they Causes mad-cow disease No cure because it can't be killed, it's just proteins that misfold. Don't eat brain matter esp. of apes or humans. Sanitize the operating room to the max after a prion patient. (?) Spreads fast in cows cause they give the remains to the cows to eat them. #### Want to Know 1. What does it mean for a protien to be misfolded? How is it different than normal? 2. What neuordiseases do they cause? 3. What are they're symptoms? 4. How many neurodiseases are caused by prions? 5. Why does cannibalism cause prions to proliferate?
