# Wise Money

## Project Description
This is the **Wise Money** Repository. **Wise Money** can handle daily spending tracking. You can input your everyday expenditure and tag them. And a dashboard will be visually demonstrated to you to help you better manage your spending.

## Target Audience
This is a web application for all who wish to keep a proper record of their daily spending so they can manage their expenditure better and potentially improve their personal financial situation.

Our daily household expendiure is tedious and the number of transactions is overwhelming which can easily confuse ordinary people. With **Wise Money**, you can easily record each transaction of yours tagged and a dashboard will be returned which can visually show your spending structure and help you improve your spending habits.

## Competitor Research
Majority of the competitors are divided into two groups, free and subscription. Here we look at one for each. Mint for free and Goodbudget for subscription.

**Mint**:
It requires you to log in your bank account to read all the transactions which is exposed to security/privacy risks and can potentially be exploited.

**Goodbudget**:
Goodbudget can only track in a budget style, i.e., you can only spend an amount in each category that's been preset. Beyond that you will keep receving alerts. Also it's not free and charging a monthly subscription at 8US$/month.

We intend to ask users to input their transactions manually instead of autmatically collecting their data through their bank accounts. Also, we do not ask the users to preset a budget, instead we make them self-responsible and help them foster a improving mindset for themselves. And of course, **Wise Money** comes at no cost.

## Available Scripts to run the app
This project was bootstrapped with [Create React App](https://github.com/facebook/create-react-app).

### `npm start`

Runs the app in the development mode.\
Open [http://localhost:3000](http://localhost:3000) to view it in your browser.

The page will reload when you make changes.\
You may also see any lint errors in the console.

### `npm test`

Launches the test runner in the interactive watch mode.\
See the section about [running tests](https://facebook.github.io/create-react-app/docs/running-tests) for more information.

### `npm run build`

Builds the app for production to the `build` folder.\
It correctly bundles React in production mode and optimizes the build for the best performance.

The build is minified and the filenames include the hashes.\
Your app is ready to be deployed!
