Each week will mostly be the same, so here’s a standard layout. There will be content and more directions, but this is more or less the structure. **Monday** **Some Tools:** - ChatGPT - Teal Chrome Extension - Goblin Tools **9/10/11/12 Pacific/Mountain/Central/Eastern** >>> [Click to Join Here]((https://app.gather.town/invite?token=Mfpv40u0RtGdgbI6ev7z)) <<< - Password: alephtwo **Kickoff - A Brand New Week** - 10 min: Start a new spreadsheet. Here’s the job search spreadsheet template, create a new one with today’s date. - 10 min: Add one bullet point to LinkedIn & connect with everyone in the whole cohort. - 10 min: Make a few changes to your resume, together, with the help of GPT. Here’s the prompt: > Paste your resume into ChatGPT, and tell it you’re looking for a job. Give it a job description. Tell it this: “Here’s my resume: [resume]. Please make 10 concrete changes to the wording on my resume to help me apply for this job: [job description]. Please list the new phrasing next to the old phrasing so I can find the changes you want me to make. Help my resume target being hired as a [job title] at [company]. Do not change my job titles drastically or give me a promotion I didn’t earn. Please don’t make up details about my education, or add new job duties that I am unlikely to have done in the roles I’ve defined. You can rephrase or suggest job duties I am likely to have done.” - 10 min: Split up on different job boards, find 3 jobs you might want to do & share any jobs in Gather that aren’t a fit for you. Keep track of the stuff in the spreadsheet. - 10 min: Read the feed & add more jobs to your board. - 10 min: Make one post about jobs you’re interested in on LinkedIn. **Tuesday** **Research and Prioritize** - 10 min: Add 20 more jobs to your spreadsheet that are within your salary range (30 sec per job). - 10 min: Add one bullet point to LinkedIn & make one post about learning something recently. - 10 min: Tweak that resume again for 10 mins, with GPT, based on the description of the top paying jobs on your sheet. - 10 min: Read the feed for shared jobs that might be a good fit. - 20 mins: Discussion: Choosing a Salary Range in your metro for your job title. There may be meetups tonight - Tuesday is a popular day for meetups. Consider attending one. **Wednesday** **Apply Day** - 10 min: Target the top 5 highest paying jobs on your list (find out which jobs those are). - 10 min: Feed the job description of the first job on your list to GPT, then ask it to make 10 changes to your resume based on getting that job. Make the changes, and generate a cover letter in the same conversation. Save this resume as a version. - 10 min: Finish panic-editing your resume and apply to the first job. That wasn’t so bad was it? - 10 min: Apply to the next 4 jobs using the same cover letter with the words changed. The first 2 will take 2 mins each and then the next several will take 30 seconds each. - 10 min: Make a Dossier for one of the companies you want to work at where you have connections & keep a list of employees (who intend to be public-facing), such as the executives & any people who might be on the same team or hold similar positions who have their details public on LinkedIn. You’ll email some of them tomorrow. - 20 min: See if any of your top 10 companies host meetups, events, or if any current employees will attend conferences you might be going to. RSVP to any meetups you can. There may be meetups tonight - Wednesday is a popular day for meetups. Consider attending one. **Thursday** **Network Day** - 10 min: Tweak a second version of your resume based on some of the job titles you saw that you liked but were less common. - 20 min: Apply to the next 10 jobs on the list, choose one to make a Dossier for. - 10 min: Look at your last few jobs that you applied to & their Dossier - if you found the hiring manager for the team you’re looking for, or some recruiters, send them an email with your existing cover letter as the body of the email & the version of your resume. - 10 min: Find one virtual career fair to attend (in your field). There should be one in the next 30 days, somewhere. - 10 min: Send a warm email to a former colleague or friend IF you’ve gotten at least 1 positive response to your resume so far (from a previous cohort). Otherwise, just compile a list of emails of people you could send these emails to. Keep the list somewhere you can add to it easily (on your phone) so that when you think of one, you can add it. There may be meetups tonight - Thursday is a popular day for meetups. Consider attending one. **Friday** **Some Tools:** - Interview Prep for Any Interview **Tie Up Loose Ends** - 10 min: Apply to the next 10 jobs on your sheet, don’t bother with the Dossier. - 10 min: Email the last 10 jobs on your sheet your cover letter and resume using the details from their Dossiers. - 10 min: Send out emails to remaining friends (once your resume Market Test comes back positive) or work on compiling your list more. - 30 min: Discussion, details, results, requests, networking
