# h1Litterfall Tanguro - PELD-TANG
## h2Our research site was established in 2004 on the Tanguro Farm (QuerĂȘncia-MT) and is managed by the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM), which was created as part of the largest experiment with fire in tropical forest areas in the world. This experiment is coordinated by IPAM through a partnership with the AMAGGI Group, the company that manages the farm. IPAM has a contract authorizing scientific research on the farm, granting total freedom to publish the data collected and the results obtained. Since the creation of this research site at Fazenda Tanguro a large network of collaboration has been established, with several research projects currently being carried out in the region. One of the datasets monitored over the long term is that of litter in the three experimental burn treatments of 50ha each (Control - unburned forest; B1yr - forest burned annually from 2004 to 2010, except 2008; B3yr - forest burned every three years). We distributed 90 trays for litter collection in 2004 to the present, considering the gradient from forest edge to forest interior. We collected litter every 15 days, separated fruits and seeds, and assessed multiple processes of forest degradation.
