# **Quadratic Funding**
## 2023:
### What has been done:
Regional focus (modeled after Ecodev & EF prorities):
- Latin America
- Tried to expand to South East Asia (S.E.A.)
Mode of operation to date:
* Top-down
**Assets:**
* [Website](https://qfi.super.site/)
* [Twitter account](https://twitter.com/QFincubator)
**Curious:**
Grow S.E.A.
**Challenge:**
S.E.A. doesn't have established communities the way Latin America now has after Devcon'22
This is an issue face by the organisation and not just QFI. For example, for the Run a Node Grants Round run by the ESP team, the team did not receive sufficient applications from South East Asia.

## QFI's impact on our ecosystem and world
**Ecosystem:**
* Helps fund ideas to kickstart many [new projects](https://qfi.super.site/case-studies/eth-argentina-23).
* demonstrating "real world" use cases of Ethereum to the world
* dog-fooding the tech stack infrastructure (e.g. MACI) & operational processes in production environments so that we can further improve it & make it easier for others to use
* incentivizing more community organizers to run events & build ETH communities
**World:**
* Real-world impact on Public Goods (Eg. [Defi Argentina](https://www.defiargentina.org/en#about) helps feed vulnerable kids in Arg)
# Looking ahead - 2024:
## Vision:
**What do we want to change and improve?**
* Change the way we operate internally
*Collaborative, versus top - down quarterly planning*
* Involve community leads
*ETH Kipu for LatAM*
**What do we want to accomplish?**
**1. Education & awareness**
Increased global presence: Run rounds in EU
**2. Heightened presence in LatAM**
* Increased decentralisation & decision making
*Can we let ETH Kipu take on a collaborative role in choosing which communities to engage with?*
**3. Increased S.E.A. presence**
*No reliable community as of yet. ETH KL is reliable but doesn't have the bandwidth as of now.*
## **Metrics**
**1. 3x rounds in 2024**
2023: 5 rounds
2024: 12 rounds
**2. Increase voting participation:**
Experienced communities running a round: 15%
(Based on 10.6% voting rate for ETH Dam)
First-timers: (Will use ETH Con's benchmark)
