# HDRUK Black Internship programme 1. Based on your experience, what positive outcomes were there from the Turing’s participation in the scheme? These could be outcomes for the Turing, REG, the Intern or any other group. - Positive outcomes (Iain) - Ibrahim made a contribution to our project with his domain knowledge as a medical Dr and his recent education in machine learning. - Ibrahim got to participate in a real world synthetic data project and learnt about our coding and data analysis best practices 2. Based on your experience, what negative outcomes were there from the Turing’s participation in the scheme? - None that I observed (Iain) 3. Were there any issues with participating in the Internship this year? - No, none that I observed (Iain) 4. Would you support the Turing participating again? - Yes (Iain) 5. If the Turing participated again, what would you suggest we change? - I would try to plan another in-person visit or two. For interns who live a long commute from the Turing, it might be helpful to know whether the Turing would subsidise travel/accommadation. (Iain) 6. Any other feedback. - Ibrahim let me know that he valued his time at the Turing and that he appreciated being assigned REG buddies (Markus and Pam) and an enrichment buddy (Giuseppe) who helped him feel part of the wider institute.
