I implemented an automated questions and solutions generator (fixed questions, varying numbers) for 4826 using Python and Markdown. The following co-authored papers appeared in accredited journals. * "Politics, policy and fixed-line telecommunications provision: Insights from Australia" <https://doi.org/10.1016/j.telpol.2020.101999> * "Harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) to increase wellbeing for all: The case for a new technology diplomacy" <https://doi.org/10.1016/j.telpol.2020.101988> #### Project leadership Initiated establishment of Institute for Technology and Network Economics <http://www.itne.eu>. ### 2020Q4 #### Produce 5 ROU in 3 years The following paper was accepted by an accredited journal. * "A tale of two contact-tracing apps – comparing Australia’s CovidSafe and New Zealand’s NZ Covid Tracer" (Digital Policy, Regulation and Governance) The following co-authored papers were accepted by accredited journal subject to revision. * "Uncertainty and Dispute Resolution for Blockchain and Smart Contract Institutions" (Journal of Institutional Economics) * "Globalisme en taal in die hoër onderwys: Redes vir die keuse van Engels as onderrigtaal" (Tydskrif vir Geesteswetenskappe) A further three papers were submitted but rejected. Two co-authored chapters in a book on media industry concentration in South Africa were finalized and accepted for a book to appear at Unisa Press but publication was delayed for operational reasons. #### Project leadership Recorded and published several podcasts for the Institute for Technology and Network Economics as well as popular publications on the Institute website. I experimented intensively with online video-conferencing tools, including with graduate students. ### 2020Q4 Several colleagues and students were assisted in the use of HackMD and Markdown in order to overcome the difficulty of complex LaTeX and difficult installations. This helps them to type perfectly adequate mathematical expressions.
