* what worked well
* We made progress
*
* We successfully set up a front and backend and got it working on all of our computers
* We came up with a new name for our project: Page Turner
* We finished the Figma mockup, adding colors and getting it in finished product condition
* what didn't
* Some of us are new to web development, so it took us more time than we were expecting to do some of the basic setup. We expect it will continue to be slow for a little while but expect to catch up to speed quickly
* Took a while to decide on exactly what features we want and ways to condense them for the end user.
* self assessment on progress
* where are you in relation to progress towards product and milestones?
* Well on track with product and milestones; at a high-level, strong understanding of milestones for this term and breakdown of work (MVP with basic recommendation algorithm, profiles, and basic feed)
* Located the data we need to develop a basic version of recommendation algorithm and APIs (Audible, GoodReads) for follow-up improvements; found some other possibilities to fast-track improvements using aggregate suggestions from other sites
* Created UI we're excited to build
* Made basic client/server architecture that properly functions on all of our computers
* give an estimate of how far towards your goals you are, do you think you're on track?
* On track for UI and functionality for first-term
* Better understanding of (a) what components we'll be building and (b) what tools we're going to build them
* All of us are now more comfortable with the architecture, but will still require a bit of time to build team knowledge of JS & React
* lay out *each* of the following weeks till end of term with brief goals for each
* Week 6: Implementation and Data Wiring
* Front end: basic navigation, home page, recommendation results page
* Back end: essential data structures
* Have a working v1 algorithm
* Week 7: Main Features Progress
* Enhance recommendation algorithm
* Front end: start social feed + progress tracking + encouragement features, finish recommendation pages
* Back end: all that's required to support above front end features, incorporate v1 algorithm into recommendations
* Algorithm: begin work on more powerful version that considers themes, authors, etc.
* Week 8: Testable MVP
* Thorough testing of completed features to eliminate bugs that prevent demonstration
* Front end: complete items begun prior week, ensure visual consistency
* Back end: as needed to complete features for this week
* Algorithm: continue progress
* Week 9: Testing Plan / User Testing
* Engage variety of users to get feedback
* Test all components of application
* Continue usability and consistency work on front end
* Prepare for demo day
