# MetaGame 🐙 Code-of-Conduct Before you get the lay of the land you we would like to present these guidelines to help you on your journey, these are not meant as rules to opress but simply as helpful frames of mind to help you suceed within this community. It is commonly held between metagame players that a modicum of hunmility goes a hell of a lot further than being a general A-hole. ## Players Although there are many players of MetaGame at many different stages of their journey [see wiki](https://wiki.metagame.wtf/docs/handbook/roles) they/we are all equally valuable. Thus you are all equally important and precious to us, and hopefully after reading this *you* will feel more like one of *us* ! ## A Game For All We are a community of individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and expereinces. We are committed to promoting and sustaining a culture that values mutual respect, tolerance, and learning. We strive to work together as a community to realize these values and to promote the efforts of individuals who join us on this journey. We believe that diversity among members is an essential element for building a robust community. A diverse community is a place where people treat one another with respect, where more voices are freely heard, more ideas are exchanged freely, and fewer blockers exist that could hinder the achievement of our goals. Thus, we welcome all people, known or anon, to co-create the MetaGame regardless of previous expereince, credentials, race, creed, or religion. ## Expectations & Intentions This code of conduct is a general guideline to help keep commununity members accountable, to discourage harassment or other behavior that could harm the spirit of openness that makes MetaGame such an awesome place to be. It's not meant to be law or scripture we are just setting these guidelines down so that players have a reference point for what kind of behavior will is encouraged and what kind will be kindly asked to be taken elsewhere. It goes without saying that keeping these principles in mind on-line (Discord, Discourse, Github, Twitter, Notion, and any other places we might spawn an embassy in the future ) as well as in person meet-ups like hackathons, conferences or the like. Generally don't be a dick. If you have an issue bring it to one of the Diamond Founders (@Diamond) and it will be presented and discussed during the next Diamond Fam meeting. ## Community Participation Guidelines **Be empathetic:** Realize that every post, event, project, or program is created by human beings that are likely trying their best, and aren't perfect. Try your best to understand perspectives that differ from your own, and to ask for clarification when you don't understand how someone feels. **Be respectful:** Every person deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. If we assume good intentions, we can work together to resolve conflict. We may all experience some frustration from time to time, but we do not allow frustration to turn into a personal attack. A community where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive one. **Be welcoming:** When an interaction or community is new, it can be intimidating. We aspire to be welcoming, friendly, and patient to both new and current members, and remember that everyone is constantly growing and learning at all points in their lives. **Be compassionate:** If you feel the compulsion to act in a disrespectful or otherwise inappropriate manner, you should practice self-compassion, and both step away from the current interaction, and seek others for support. It can be helpful to talk to someone about what is troubling you, and discuss how you can approach a situation with respect, and without conflict. **Be collaborative:** The success and spirit of MetaGame depends on the participation of many people. Effective and friendly collaboration enables everyone to better achieve their goals. **Be aware:** We are careful and respectful in our communication, and we take responsibility for our own speech. Be aware of how what you say or do might impact others. Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down other members of the community. ## Community No No's We, the creators and maintainers of this community, are committed to making participation a harassment-free experience. Actions such as harassment, attacks or other exclusionary behaviors will not be tolerated, such as: - Misrepresenting MetaGame in any form of written or verbal communication. - Promoting fake news/false information that is not inline with the communities current goals. - Prejudicial or exclusitionary acts based on a person race, sex, or gender. - Attacking other players or shitting on their ideas without due cause. - Shilling unhelpful or spammy content in the communinty channels. - Asking other players for money, loans, or displaying extractive behavior. - Being a dick 🤷🏽‍♂️ That about covers it, there are'nt many rules to engage with this community that must be observed other than `don't be a dick` it is never okay to be a dick and if you're caught acting like one a swift kick will be the result.
