### 25.10 key highlights

* 改用更激進的 kernel 引入策略（這次基於 6.17-rc7）
* 納入 Rust 元件：
* uutils-coreutils
* sudo-rs
* dracut 取代 initramfs-tools
* TPM backed FDE

### GNOME Desktop

* 因為 NVIDIA 驅動的改進，X 作業階段被移除，只剩下 Wayland
* 影像檢視與終端機應用程式變更
* 軟體更新改為整合到 GNOME shell，不再有彈出視窗

### Rust implementation of coreustils and sudo

### Dracut

* initramfs-tools 比較難維護所以被換掉

### Linux Kernel 6.17

* 支援 Intel TDX：可以在雲主機上使用自己的 boot/system firmware，減少 firmware 因為被雲服務商管理產生的安全疑慮
* 支援 ARM64 架構的 UEFI 韌體

### Security

- Ubuntu 25.10 introduces a less intrusive Software Updater experience, new notification behaviors, and resolves past update-related bugs, alongside platform and security improvements.
- Update notifications in 25.10 are now shown as desktop alerts with actionable options: open Update Manager, inspect pending changes, or install updates directly.
- The updater no longer steals keyboard focus; previously, the pop-up window could interrupt tasks.
- Dismissing notifications leaves a system tray icon as a reminder, and allows convenient access to updates.
- The Update Manager interface retains granular package details, with versions and sizes shown for selective installs
