# OMERO importing data and sharing them with external collaborators
###### tags: `Crick` `OMERO`
## Setup
1. This note assume that you and your external collaborators have already setup login accounts on OMERO. If not, please contact kenneth.ho@crick.ac.uk to register for one, the process may take a few days through IT and IT security.
1. Before moving your image data to the CAMP network storage for OMERO to import, you will need to mount the CAMP network dirve.
- For Mac users:
```
smb://data.thecrick.org/proj-omero/<user-name>/
```
- For MS-Windows users, it will be
```
smb:\\data.thecrick.org\proj-omero\<user-name>
```
1. If you use STP_EHP's Zeiss Axioscanner for acquiring slide images
- e.g. EHP,`smb:\\data.thecrick.org\proj-omero\stp_ehp\`
The above network storage should have already mounted with the instrument. If it is not the case, please contact kenneth.ho@crick.ac.uk or John.roche@crick.ac.uk.
1. User will need to create its own user folder under `stp_ehp`
e.g. user `ken` will need to create
```
smb:\\data.thecrick.org\proj-omero\stp_ehp\ken\
```
- It is recommend to use your login ID, e.g. `hok` to ensure that there is no duplicate and confusion in the future, e.g.
```
smb:\\data.thecrick.org\proj-omero\stp_ehp\hok\
```
## Importing/Acquiring images
1. You will also need to create a **directory** or **directories** to store all your images for import to OMERO. e.g.
```
proj-omero\stp_ehp\hok\20220201_import
```
- It is recommened to use a new directory or directories for each batch of imports.
1. After you have either moved all your images to the import directory or fnished acquiring images from your instrument, please send an email to kenneth.ho@crick.ac.uk and let him know the exact names of the directores that needed import.
## Moving Project/Dataset/Image to another Group
It is assumed that you have access to view and annotate on OMERO (https://omero-prod.camp.thecrick.org) in a browser. You can see your images in a **dataset** (green folder icon) within a project (grey folder icon).
