## Ice-breaker Activity

:question: Name one thing you learned about Python in the class preparation and why do you think it's useful? :snake:

- Tom: Thing: += Why: short hand.
- Juan Thing: List comprehension. Why: less code doing the same thing.
- Louise: Thing: Dictionary. Why: Great for storing data.
- Shashvat: Thing: Unpacking and passing args and kwargs, especially kwargs as a dictionary. Why: Helpful to pass complex objects (really "structs" from C) around without using Class, which can be opaque.
- Tianyun. Thing: functions. Why: Reusability.
- Yi Shi. Thing: Geography package. Why: Useful.
- Elizabeth. Thing: Definition. Why: Clear understanding of classes.
- Jake. Thing: Functions. Why: Useful for making main block of code really neat.
- Keru. Thing: Learn different writing style. Why: Used to matlab.

## Exercise/Discussion notes
- Need someone to take intiative/start things off (with screen sharing)
- Have person sharing screen being instructed and not taking lead
- Try make sure it's an idea everyone follows along with when working towards a solution
