# Installing R and RStudio

## Installing R

1. Go to [cloud.r-project.org](https://cloud.r-project.org/)


2. Click 'Download R for...' your operating system


3. Click 'base' or 'Install R for the first time'


4. Click 'Download R...'

5. Once it has downloaded open the .exe file and follow the instructions in the installation wizard. The default settings are fine.

### Installing RStudio

1. Go to [rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download](https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/)


2. Click 'Download' RStudio Desktop


3. Click to download the installer for your operating system

4. Once it has downloaded open the .exe file and follow the instructions in the installation wizard. The default settings are fine.

5. Open RStudio
