# The DAOhaus Declaration of Interdependence

**We aren't afraid to speak openly about power.** We believe in the power of purpose-driven communities. We are a community dedicated to making things work.

**DAOhaus aligns with Ethereum community values.** We are here because we desire fairness and equality. We strive to foster ways of interacting that do not inflict violence, oppress, exploit, or extract from each other. The tools we are building are fundamentally pro-social and enshrine solidarity. We are building the world we want to live in.

**We are here to empower people**, to make their lives better, to give voice to people that didn't have a say before. We know we can make a better future beyond all skepticism and cliché. This optimism drives results and we can prove it.

**We are the rebels, geeks, visionaries, and underdogs.** Our colleagues are also our friends. We work with integrity, with people of integrity. We are action-oriented people. We are outsiders, innovators, and weirdos.

- We are builders.
- We are building for humans, not profit.

**We believe that protocols must support humans, not the other way around.** We try our damndest to embody the change we want to see *without accidentally consolidating power along the way.* We envision a future where any human community can achieve its purpose while reinforcing the full sovereignty of individual members.

**DAOhaus is a platform built by the people, for the people.** At its core, DAOhaus looks to empower anyone adding value to the ecosystem, regardless of their social status or previous accolades. Access to our platform has always been and will always be free. Summoning a DAO only requires payment of network transaction fees. We offer these permissionless coordination tools to all and access does not reduce availability to others.

**We seek to put every member of a community in power**, to distribute power through a community. We know the infrastructure and tools must be considered alongside the social and cultural elements as they rely upon each other. We are facillitating humans to manifest themselves (as communities) in the way that they want without being captured by hierarchies. Humans must be supported in coordinating without fear that others will extract their value and this requires constant experimentation. We know it's more about discovering and nurturing than inventing infinite customizable novelties.

**We are explicit about power as a topic of conversation.** For us, power isn't an undercurrent or subtext couched in another objective. We are trying to preserve the agency of the collective organization rather than the select few. Our commitment runs deep.

**We are opposed to exploitation by obfuscation!** DAOhaus strives for transparency in our operations, to be explicit about our agenda, to give our contributor community full knowledge of what is important. We advocate for hard governance where the outcome of participation has a provable impact. We stretch the bounds of our tech as far as we can so we can put as much of our activities on-chain as possible, to give goverance as much impact, hardness, and security as possible.

**Good faith governance is a culture that we cultivate.** Our values are embedded in our technology. Society is unbundling and DAOs are here to pick up the pieces. We are solving the hardest problems and DAOs are the most likely means to make the largest, scaleable, positive impact.

**We are demonstrating viable alternatives** for scaleable coordination, collaboration, and value transfer. We will continue to challenge the status quo by asking the difficult questions others have stopped asking. We understand that we have to go further than merely rejecting previous attempts, which is why we are questioning everything. It's dishonest to do things any other way.

**DAOhaus fosters pluralism**; different viewpoints are welcome, we are always listening, and we try to avoid becoming too attached to our ideas by encouraging many different ways of thinking. This makes us resilient and flexible, accessible, and stronger together.

**We are pushing the envelope.** We practice creative ambition by necessity. We are driven to build these tools because they don't exist yet. We are moving the needle. This is DAOhaus.

- We strive first to be inclusive, not exclusive.
