# Punk, Molochs, and Dangerous Technology: Three Inflection Points for the UG
#### Taxonomies of Moloch
- Reference: [In the Dust of this Planet - Eugene Thacker](https://www.are.na/block/843438)
- A taxonomy of classic monsters
- The Blob
- Vampires
- Zombies
- Werewolves
- A spectrum of spectres
- etc etc
- Extract and distill the allegories of each monster and identify the occurance of a mythological Moloch
- Molochs occuring at every scale: apertures/oscillations of Moloch
- inside/outside tensions
- define the scale and what kind of Moloch occurs there
- how coordination failure is defined at that scale
- from the micro-cellular level to the macro-cosmic scale: from cancer to ancient gods,
- Moloch remains invisible. We can only interact with the trace, the after image
#### Punk from Cyber to Lunar
- Reference: [Lunarpunk and the Dark Side of the Cycle](https://www.egirlcapital.com/writings/107533289)
- Early 20th century radical youth movements, philosophical sub-cultures, experimental economics, and everything inbetween. Basically: *the avant-garde as proto punk*
- We could go back much further, but some constraint is needed, however arbitrary
- Maybe an invitation for contributors to explore the *revisionist history* of Anon punk?
- Will keep this super brief
- Cyber punk: influence of technological integration through the miraculous global tether of the internet
- Avoid notions of pop cultural *consumption* (ie: internet art) and emphasize the subversive empowerment of information (ie: internet sub-cultures)
- Cypher doomerism > solar post-doomerism > lunar anti-surveillance as a rocket speed super high-level first pass
- Create invitation for future contributors to ideate and iterate this myth and higher detail
- To move *way beyond the aesthetics* and into the philosophical and political content
- Put the lineage/procession onto a pseudo-fictional timeline
- Starts with fact, moves to contemporary lorecraft, moves to total sci-fi
#### Post-Pandemic Anti-Catastrophic Global Scale Computation
- Reference: [The Stack: On Software and Sovereignty - Benjamin Bratton](https://observatory.constantvzw.org/books/benjamin-h-bratton-the-stack-on-software-and-sovereignty-2.pdf)
- A self-critique of the Web3 crypto stack and contemporary culture that is steering it, via:
- automation
- globalization
- artificial intelligence (optimistic weighed against the pessimistic)
- Prognosticates the *stack to come* (or the *black stack to come* via Bratton)
- Carefully dismantles the pop cultural aspects of the current crypto narrative:
- mass consumption
- popular/populace onboarding
- pop aesthetics and marketing
- integrations with cen/trad infrastructure
- Serves as an opportunity to inject potent philosophical and political references (as an appendix?) for intellectual, academic, activist, and other peripheral communities to enter into the conversation
