**We aren't afraid to speak openly about power.**
Moloch contracts and DAOhaus are explicit about power as a topic of conversation. It's at the heart of what we do and what we care about. For us power isn't an undercurrent or subtext couched in another objective. We are trying to make power explicit, to preserve the agency of the collective organization rather than the select few. Our commitment runs deep.
DAOhaus aligns with the Ethereum community's implicit and explicit values. We are here because we want a better world that is more fair and equal, to foster ways of interacting that do not inflict violence, oppress, exploit, or extract from each other. The tools we are building are fundamentally pro-social and enshrine solidarity to ensure a world where no one can boss anyone else around. We are building the world we want to live in.
We practice creative ambition and take risks by necessity. We are pushing the envelope, because we have to. This is the frontier. We are driven to build these tools because they don't exist yet.
The structure of DAOhaus is egalitarian, but that doesn't mean everyone is equal. DAOhaus strives for transparency in our operations, to be explicit about our agenda, to give our contributor community full knowledge of what is important. We are opposed to exploitation by obfuscation!
Maybe we are a bit disagreeable at heart. 😝 If something seems odd or off, we will speak our minds and nurture honesty in each other. DAOhaus fosters pluralism; different viewpoints are welcome, we are always listening, and we try to avoid becoming too attached to our ideas to encourage many different ways of thinking. This makes us resilient and flexible, accessible, and stronger together.
DAOhaus supports humans over profits. We believe that humans should decide our own path and use the tech to augment our shared vision. For this reason, we advocate for hard governance where the outcome of pariticpation has a provable impact. We stretch the bounds of our tech as far as we can so we can put as much of our activities on-chain as possible, to give goverance as much impact, hardness, and security as possible. We know this tactic is far more effective than LARPing governance. We must do the hard work, rather than posturing a utopian future we can't deliver on. We are building to secure the freedom for communities to coordinate their own way, on their own terms. We are here to empower people, to make their lives better, to give voice to people that didn't have a say before. We know we can make a better future beyond all skepticism and cliche. This optimism drives results and we can prove it.
We are trying to move the needle. We want this tech to become ubiquitous. These smart contracts are a shield that allows people to participate while protecting their own interest, but they're also a weapon that gives individuals the power to make their own decisions. This idea might soon eat every other organizational entity and kill extraction for good. The timing is right, we are in the right place. Society is unbundling and DAOs are here to pick up the pieces. We are solving the hardest problems and DAOs are the most likely means to make the largest, scaleable, positive impact. Good faith governance is a culture that we cultivate.
~~Welcome to DAOhaus.~~ (Insert tagline here).
