# Uberhaus Casual Hangout Meeting 1-28-22
### Raise
- DAOhaus is entering a raise period.
- Talking with other DAOs in the space to gather sentiment. Everyone is very happy with the product and direction.
### UH Reboot
- Related how to configure our UH setup.
- Initial HAUS airdrop was to 70+ DAOs, but over 50% have never interacted with UH.
- We now have some new tech: minions, yeeters, etc.
- We might take all the active people, drop the inactive DAOs, and this will free up some HAUS.
- We move towards 3 committees: Ops team, Grants group, "Unmarketing" group.
- The DAO members will be the share holders, but perhaps we open access to everyone to be a loot holder. This might be good to gather more community signaling: share holders would be more accountable to loot holders, signal/snapshot voting, etc.
- Coin voting sucks, but *staked* coin voting is good: allows for skin-in-the-game, still vulnerable to the "Whale Problem" (someone gathering up voting shares by buying HAUS loot).
- This is the How, but what about the Why?
- Every DAO member will get retroactive rewards for successful initiatives that they accomplish. We need to define the success criteria.
- Loot stakers could serve to evaluate these initiatives.
- We have previously played with [a token log](https://hackmd.io/odrtBLGqSPaAV8Jn4o346g), prioritizing features that in the UI, tracking larger milestones on the product side.
- Maybe we could pursue a combination of these features.
- Adding curation, proposal matching, and clearer purpose to the delegate particpation seems important.
### Learnings from the Past
- How can we evaluate new changes without knowing precisely how the previous system didn't work? What were the criteria that we have deemed as failed and how will we know that the new system will be more successful?
- There wasn't enough tracking of delegate activities.
- Guidelines weren't clear up front, so we couldn't execute on the governance mining idea.
- It's important to identify what didn't work, address the benefits of the new approach to understand how they will be an improvement.
### Immediate Action Items
- Revamping the meeting schedule:
- A motion to reschedule all the delegate meetings to the same day/time.
- Revamp the UberPaladin's DAO:
- Originally summoned to help with ops for UH
- To help simplify the process for delegates to spend funds across the ecosystem on various initiatives.
- The UH voting period is 3 weeks, so this allows coordination agility.
- The vote/grace period is short (2hr vote, 30min grace). We might consider extending vote = 24 hrs, grace = 12 hrs.
- Security considerations: introduce a spam, increase proposal deposit.
### Jesters!
- UH Jester proposal in on the forum. Delegates, take a look!
- We would like to put it on chain this week.
- Don't call it a marketing committee!
- With your approval we will proceed.
### Dekan Noise
- Dekan started a [one-man noise band.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtB6BJKifEA)
- Delegates should get some kind of kick-back. Maybe we figure that out next time we meet.
- We only paid rewards for one governance mining period, so more can be spent. It could also be carried over to the UH reboot.
### Recognizing the Value-Add
- The *How to DAO* course and the Meta-Accelerator program grew out of UH support. These are success cases that we should remember, to continue providing space for these kinds of initiatives.
- Reclaiming HAUS token to distribute to other DAOs might provide additonal opportunities for activation.
- We should discuss related issues of authority in considering this distribution.
### UH Work Streams
- Dekan will prepare a proposal for us to consider at the next meeting: high-level overview. Others are invited to diverge on the concepts.
- Is there a conflict of interest in having delegates as members of different work streams of UH?
- Or conflict of interest between DH War Camp and UH work streams?
- Potentially a DAO could be over represented.
- Total independence will be difficult to ensure in the structure, but maybe there is a deeper philosophical issue here.
- How do we articulate the checks and balances with high definition? Yes, we will hold each other accountable, but we must identify the precise metrics.
