## History of the Clan
The Mizuno Clan holds its roots in the small island of Enoshima, their origin stories almost all containing recollections or tales of the deity Benzaiten. Having long praised this goddess through erecting shrines and offering prayers, perhaps it was only natural that the first people to be blessed with water breathing were the Mizunos. For centuries, the Mizuno Clan's descendants and pupils strived to keep the peace in their lands, just as their patron deity had done for them many centuries ago.
### Benzaiten (Benten), The Goddess of Music
Benzaiten, otherwise known as Benten, is the deity of music, wisdom, and wealth. Often, she is depicted in the presence of aquatic life either from the sea or from freshwater.
### Gozuryu, The Five-Headed Dragon
Gozuryu, a dark five-headed dragon said to reside in the Kamakura region inside of a lake. For thousands of years, the people of Enoshima were plagued by countless tribulations perpetrated by Gozuryu.
### The Legend of Enoshima
Benzaiten arose from the sea and lifted the island of Enoshima from under the fierce waters. After seeing the deity Benzaiten for the first time, Gozuryu the dragon fell in love and proposed to her. However, after having seen Gozuryu wreak havoc on humans, she rejected his proposal and made him understand that he had been wrongdoing by plaguing the villagers. Driven by an overwhelming sense of shame and his love for the goddess, he vowed to forever protect the people of Enoshima.

## Morals of the Clan
The people of the Mizuno clan are simple people, choosing to be very flexible in their thinking. Much as water takes the form of its container, and how water can flow freely from one place to another, the people of the Mizuno clan follow a nebulous moral code of honor and righteousness. Though, not all members of the Mizuno Clan abide as strongly by these morals.
## Motives
The Mizuno Clan harbors a variety of motives within itself. There are those who wish to expand the clan's territorial holdings, and yet others who only want to maintain the ancestral lands of the clan. In the time of each and every Tatsu, however, the people of the Mizuno clan rally behind their leader irregardless.
