Berlin is a hot-spot for grassroots communities of blockchain developers, designers, strategists and enthusiasts. In addition, the German regulatory authority BaFin has been particularly active, engaged and permissive. BaFin has been quick to produce guidance on and regulatory guidelines and requirements. Together, the blockchain groundswell and legislative encouragement have nurtured a thriving blockchain ecosystem.

**Bitkom**
