# Prediction market guide
A prediction market is one in which users bet on their beliefs in future events. In a prediction market people trade tokens which pay out if their predictions turn out to be correct. They enter a position based on what outcome they believe will happen. The outcome must be a choice of two options, usually expressed as Yes and No. Examples might, be "Will it rain tomorrow?" or, "Will Joe Biden with the U.S. Election?"
### Getting started
The first step in our prediction market is sign in using your Eve Online login, and acquire some tokens to participate.
HOW WILL WE GIVE THESE OUT?
### Buying and selling tokens
You buy and sell tokens through the market interface. Because the price of tokens depends on their supply in the marketplace, buying large numbers can move the market.
You will see an estimate of the total tokens you will receive and the average price per token. This extra amount is based on the price of the unwanted token in the market.

You can also sell your tokens if you no longer want to keep your position in the market.

### Checking Positions

You can always see your current tokens and entries on the market page that you have entered, and you can find which markets you are in in your portfolio, which you can find under your account in the top right.

### Changing positions
If you have entered a market you can always sell your tokens. This may be a good strategy if the price of tokens has gone up (and you don't believe in the outcome). Keep in mind you may also lose money with this strategy. When selling tokens you receive 95% of total tokens because of the market fees.
### Withdrawing Winnings
When the market has closed you can withdraw any winnings. When a market settles the winning tokens are worth 1 and the losing tokens are worth 0 of the market's currency.
For instance if you have 30 (winning) Yes tokens you will receive 30 x 0.95 =
You can claim your winnings on the portfolio page.

### Dealing with Errors

From time to time you may see errors with transactions. Most commonly this is because you are trying to buy or sell more tokens than are possible based on your current wallet amount. Try lowering the amount of tokens.
