# Space Genius | Build a Space Biology Superhero ## Team Members ![](https://i.imgur.com/6pwIQ9h.jpg) ## Project Title* ### Women astronauts' challenge to go to space ## High-Level Project Summary Hello everyone we are the "SPACE GENIUS". For this challenge we will use Scratch to make a game. All of our team members are students. We want to let everybody know howdifficult it is to live in space, especially for women. Space exploration involves extreme gravity, disrupted sleep and circadian rhythms, astronauts need to relearn how to eat, sleep and brush their teeth. Solve some difficulties such as what to do with menstrual blood when menstruation comes. For this game, the player will prepare a spacesuit to wear and they will need to know the environment in space like pressure and temperatures. They also need to survive in space. Once they board the moon they will meet the water bears .They must defeat using a material. When the alien creature catches the player, the game will be over. Let's go to be a great hero! ## Link to Project "Demo" <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7viNStlvigg" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> We created this game to let players to know more about the preparation of a female astronaut to go to space and the challenges she will face. The game can help the player to understand more about what will happen in the life of the female astronaut. It was a very special experience, and in the process of researching information, it made me understand NASA better. Our group was made up of students of all ages, and we thought that this challenge would create a game that would make people more aware of the training that astronauts need to undergo and the difficult environment in outer space. ## Detailed Project Description The most important task of astronauts is to explore the universe, to solve the mysteries of the universe for us, to assist satellites and space telescopes, to give us on Earth the latest weather forecasts, satellite positioning and so on. They will also conduct some experiments in outer space, in addition to comparing the differences between the survival of living creatures on Earth and in outer space, and will also solve some problems that humans may face in the future survival in space. Therefore, astronauts must not only have the expertise in mathematical engineering, but also have good physical ability to survive in a gravity-free environment and pilot a spacecraft. And female astronauts will be more challenging, because the physiological structure is different. Female astronauts also need to deal with menstrual conditions, so the long history of female astronauts in space walks only accounted for 9%. Here are some challenges you should know before taking off to outer space: ### Challenge 1 - Ready for Space Astronauts must undergo more than two years of intensive training before they can be sent to space, including daily muscle strength and gravity training. Today the female astronaut Amanda is finally going to depart. What items should she bring in her luggage? ### Challenge 2 - Face the menstrual cycle In outer space because of the loss of gravity, female astronauts usually take birth control pills or use tampons to solve the problem of menstrual cycle. But tampons will produce a huge amount of space junk, so many female astronauts choose to take the pill. Do you think this is good for their health? ### Challenge 3 - Learn about space creatures and protect yourself After landing on the moon, Amanda Teng discovers a water bear worm and decides to freeze it with a freezing gun for research on space creatures. Be careful! The water bear worm will come back to life if it touches water! Amanda completed her space mission and we encourage women to overcome the difficulties and achieve their dreams as well as contribute to humanity. ## Space Agency Data <iframe src="https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/739870682/embed" allowtransparency="true" width="485" height="402" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen></iframe> https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/739870682 ## Hackathon Journey We created this game to allow players to get acquainted with the preparation of a female astronaut to go to space and the challenges she will encounter.
