At the least hopping train cars should trigger a brief train noise. Ideally we should have an inside and an outside areas. - outside should be constant rail clicking and going inside should fade it back to quiet. Maybe throwing in a random train whistle. - let us toggle it if that's the case. Might be annoying ## Sprite Notes - Train-car connectors - Train tracks - Rail car signs!!!! - We can use this as an oppertuntity to sin and make a "train" shell similar to some servers arrival shuttles. This would really help sell the train feel but we'll need to settle on what we want our dimensions to be (@Zytolg) - like the skyrat shuttles? Do we need code support for that? ~ c - should just be an overlaying decal, can be coded as indestruct but minimal overhead ~zy ## Map Notes - parked train? have players spawn in an old timey train station and get dressed up. - moving train? West to Eest, players spawn in the caboose, periodically "phases" into different outside environments if no match is in progress - simulated movement a la hyperspace - 2 or 3 zs, depends on if glass floors and multiz is working properly. A LOT of multiz to render for a LOT OF PEOPLE (keep into consideration) - - If glass doesn't pan out we could try 2 trains. (@Z) - Train cars might need to be pretty large considering they need to fit an arena - 3 arenas worked well last time but we eventually had to kill one due to lack of admins - keep all arenas on the same Z level for ease of commentating - lower the amount of weapons we provide outside of arenas, so it's not just an RDM bloodbath at all times - It will be interesting to see what we can get away with since we now have mapthreading. Would performance increases permit use of parallax? - I would advise not touching this, low end PCs still suffer even with 515 - ~~We should decide now if we're going to have a vertical train (n/s) or a horizontal train (e/w).~~ - We should be doing horizontal cars, to match with horizontal arenas. ~c - makes good sense with WIDE viewports - Devise a train car template, we can decide the rolling stock order
