## Facebook messenger

Facebook Messenger (FBM) is a messaging app (iOS/ Android) that allows you to chat with your Facebook contacts. It also allows you to send and receive messages, photos, videos, audio recordings, and video calls.

Businesses can use Facebook Messenger chatbot to interact with their business contacts and their target audience. It is also used to automate customer support by answering frequently asked questions, providing product information, and responding to customer inquiries.

## 1. Connect your Facebook messenger account

To create a Facebook messenger account, follow these steps:

1. On the switcher, click **Channels**.

2. On the **Messaging** channels page, click **Facebook messenger**.


3. Click **Connect to your Facebook account**.

You need admin access to create an account.

4. Login to your Facebook account that is connected with your Facebook Business Page.

5. After successfully logging in, click **continue** to navigate to your page.


6. Select your business page. If you have more than one business page connected to this FB account, select the one for which you want to setup a chatbot, and then click **Next**.

7. Enable the required permissions and click **Done**.

8. Check the name of the business account and click on **Connect**.

9. Your Facebook messenger account has been successfully connected to our platform.


## 2. Test FBM chatbot

After creating your account successfully, you can start configuring the chatbot with any of the existing flows based on your business requirements.

##### Prerequisite

* `Get Started` in Facebook messengeer only works when get_started is added as the start trigger.

To test FBM chatbot, follow these steps:

1. Open your Facebook account and switch to your business page.


2. Click **Message** to test your bot.


##### Test FBM chatbot by adding FAQs

After adding the FAQs and training the chatbot, you can test your FBM chatbot in your brand page's messenger channel based on the FAQs that you have added.
